You know your kicker's absolute max range, right? Because that was well beyond it. Even the 2% chance on a hail Mary is greater than zero.

I agree that was a terrible decision. A FG attempt wasn’t even on my mind until they said Santos was on the field. I definitely think we have a better shot getting the Hail Mary. It was a good kick but he just doesn’t have the range and Nagy should know that

Somebody tell me why I shouldn’t feel butthurt at the refs stealing the game from us.

Not I. The phantom clipping call that called back the TD was the difference in the game.

Or the taunting call. Or many other bs calls.

Yeah refs were terrible. Don’t forget that that taunting penalty gave the Steelers 3 points and I really don’t think the Steelers get the TD on that last drive if they were down 4.

Anyways I don’t really care. What I saw from fields is a huge win in my book

A whole bunch of 6'6" dudes and you ain't letting JF take a chance on that hail Mary?

Come on man.

Hell, put Cairo Santos at receiver and send him to the end zone. He has a better chance of catching the hail Mary than he had of making that kick.

dumbass Nagy probably thinks the adrenaline will make santos kicks go an extra 10

He’s still looking for the whys when all he has to do is look in the horsefeathering mirror

Good. Exactly what I want to see tbh.

They need to lose while Fields shown flashes and improvements. At the end of the season, get to like 6-7 wins so it's good enough that Giants aren't getting a top 5 pick while being bad enough because they weren't close enough to the playoffs or even .500 that they have to fire everybody. There will be no reason or excuse that you can argue to keep any of them.

Screw that, what about the missed roughing the passer on the next play? I don't care about the outcome in fact, this loss should help to hasten the firing of both Nagy and Pace, I do care about the multitude of targeting head shots and late hits Fields has taken. Just WTF are those officials looking at, oh wait I know, phantom illegal blocks. Fields grew again today, it's all there, next step is the McCaskey' getting their next iteration of GM and HC correct, something I do not believe they're capable of doing.

I mean, at first I was confused why Santos was warming up on the sideline when the only play was a Hail Mary.

That’s how bizarre that decision was for me. My mouth dropped open when I realized he was kicking for real.

Nagy does not belong as a HC in the NFL. Maybe he’s a solid coordinator but his time here must end.

Fields is legit. That’s the end of that argument as far as I’m concerned.

That’s the big thing I’m taking from this game.

But damn, the refs are out of control awful and it’s not just Bear games, it’s all games.

I don't think we've talked about it yet...and it obviously worked out for the Bears...but punting when down 10 in the fourth quarter is mind-numbingly stupid.

fields shined and nagy looks inept in multiple ways down the stretch. good all around

Agreed. Fields looks legit. Nagy got help from the refs to lose the game, even though he can do that all on his own.

He’s been worse at coordinating than coaching and he’s bad at coaching

Lol that’s exactly what I said. Furthest thing from my mind was a FG attempt. Does he think he is in Denver and his kicker is Matt Prater?

Not that this should play into the decision making of course but that dead on arrival FG attempt ended his streak of hitting 40 consecutive FGs. Imagine losing that streak in a kick he probably knew there was no shot of making

If losing is one step closer to getting rid of Nagy and Pace, then today is a win

Not that we needed any more evidence of Nagy ineptitude at coaching however, we've got this and as mentioned earlier punting the ball down ten late in the 4th. He always makes the wrong decision, always.

I was honestly fine with the punt. Steelers offense didn't do anything from the 1st quarter on, Bears likely would have gotten the ball right back.
