Listening to Zach Lowe's podcast interview with Jo. Lot of interesting nuggets from that era of Bulls basketball. You can tell Derrick's injury still bothers him as he asked to change the subject after a couple of minutes of discussing it. For the summer of 2010, he tried to call LeBron and he didn't answer, but he talked and met with both Bosh and Wade and was convinced that the Bulls were getting both of them, and then possibly LeBron if the other 2 went here. Still frustrating how we got played, though I still really enjoy and appreciate that scrappy Bulls team with Booz and the bench mob which wouldn't have happened if we were the evil empire with Bosh, Wade, LeBron, Rose, Noah, Deng and Taj. Of course I'd take the evil empire and winning every day but oh well.

Feel like the Bulls just got out coached tonight. They seemed to know exactly how to beat our defense and then their lack of size was exploited for the second straight game.

This stretch could be rough but hoping this is just a bad matchup. Feel like if we get through these 14 games over .500 that would be a good thing

Edit: if the bulls win this was a reverse jinx attempt

Once again from the 'things were just going too well' file

I had a feeling it was going to be really bad when I saw the initial reports.

Definitely not a good thing but this can turn into a chance to improve at the PF position with a move at some point. While its brutal to miss a year of development, it gives the Bulls a chance to find someone who can bring some size and experience to the front court for this season and it gives a team that is trying to gel less to focus on as they don't also have to also worry about developing a young raw player as a starting PF on a team built to win.

Though its ridiculous the trend of bulls injuries over the last decade. Seems like we always get a couple of brutal ones each year.

Really nice W. DeRozan is such a lethal player on offense. Can really lead his guys and get them involved while also pouring in the points. I'm convinced they're a playoff team and I missed a golden opportunity to cash in by taking the over. They're gonna win about 50 games I believe.

Oddly enough, the Patrick Williams minutes lost to injury were picked up mostly by Ayo Dosunmu tonight, who got 21 minutes of gametime, part of effectively 7 rotation players who got significant minutes in the game (starting 5 with Green, then Caruso and Ayo). A lot of even smaller lineups for the Bulls tonight, who had a smallish rotation to begin with.

Terrible shooting, but the free throw shooting (and defense) bailed them out
Vuc really tanked those shooting numbers

Yes, though Ball wasn't great either

I think their make up is of a team that will win a bunch more regular season games than most think. Derozan and Vooch aren't guys who typically miss many games, and they can win games with those 2 and their depth pieces depending on the matchup. And they have no guys who need to load manage. They don't rely on the 3 enough to have a bad shooting game keep them from winning. They'll just drive to the basket and get to the line if they are struggling from deep. They play good enough perimeter D that the 3 probably won't kill them too much either.
