horsefeathers that ball was smoked. Definitely one of those wins where you are relieved but not feeling great about the team afterwards

Starting to think that spending no money in the off season and expecting the Iowa Shuttle to fill out the bullpen was a bad idea

It doesn’t seem to matter. Anyone meaningful the Cubs sign for the pen besides Cishek inexplicably loses their command and/or gets hurt

Maybe let David Ross spend a few years coaching AA, AAA, before throwing him into head honcho.
Because having an entire bullpen full of bums is his fault?

He did leave Kimbrel out there too long, but that's pretty garden variety "faith in your closer" stuff. It's not like Joe was any different there.

I’m fine with a manager showing confidence in his closer but the dude walked or hit 5 of the 6 batters he faced and was clearly struggling to get the ball over the plate. It’s not like he was trying to paint the corners and was just missing. He had absolutely no command and to leave him out there and expecting anything but another walk is foolish.

All wins are good wins

Disagree. Not when it gives someone a heart attack or worse...

I was concerned that playing in empty parks wouldn't capture the same emotions as a normal game but this game officially proved otherwise

Heyward not in RF (unless he’s hurt or maybe has Covid) was inexcusable too. He should’ve been out there in the 6/7th.

Yeah, that was stressful AF and you could tell Kimbrel was feeling the pressure (even in an empty ballpark).

8.1-2.7, hopefully the Brewers lose.

Wow, Pirates blew a 5-1 9th inning lead? What a night for NL Central bullpens

Their closer is almost as shitty as ours
