frankly, I don't think it matters who wins - splitting the ten games is perfect. The Cardinals need to go 8-0 in their 7 extra games to catch the cubs . . .

Brewers going 3-2 works for me. 4-1 would be fine as long as the Cubs get one against Cleveland. Would mean neither team picks up much on us. Brewers go 3-2, Cubs split, Brewers pick up a 1/2 game and the Cards lose a 1/2 game.

had the brewers won, the reds would have been a half game back.

Today's White Sox-Twins game will basically decide the AL Central division, as if the Twins win, they win the season series and the tiebreaker between the teams, and would be within a game of first place. If the White Sox win, they tie the season series, would win the tiebreaker between the two based on divisional record, and be 3 games up in the division.

I could see the Twins being extra motivated to win here, because if they do finish 2nd in the division, they line up perfectly for a first round playoff series with the Yankees yet again, and the Twins-Yankees playoff series haven't been very competitive of late.

A very important game, especially for the Twins (like you said) and Josh Donaldson got tossed after hitting a home run. He had been frustrated with the ump after calling a 2-0 pitch that should have been a ball a strike. I'm all about giving it back to umps at times, but what a doofus.

Cubs are now tied with the Atlanta baseball team for the #2 seed

the standings always seem to show the cubs ahead, do they have the actual tie-breaker?

The Cubs currently have the tiebreaker, which is division record, 21-15 to 19-14.

In that case that record also ends up tied, the next tiebreaker is last 20 division games, then 21, then 22, continuing until the tie is broken.

Pirates spanking the Cardinals, lol

Seems like all the DHs are taking a toll and may cost them a playoff spot lol

Hudson got hurt too. I kinda want them in as our RD 1 opponent, as discussed the other day. I think they’ll be running on fumes if they get in. Plus they just aren’t all that talented.

got to love the 1st and 2nd place team both being idle and the 1st place team's magic number still goes down. The 2020 Cubs are a team of destiny.

Mitch Keller no hit the Cardinals through 6. They relieve him and Hartlieb goes Walk, Walk, and Hit By Pitch. Bases loaded no outs.

Was 4-0. Now it’s 4-4 and still two on and one out.
