Oh, I messaged a buddy when I posted this and said I was wondering what creative way they’d come up with to blow it. I was not disappointed.

Finally the Illini finish off a game and take down Michigan. Maybe this Illinois team will turn out to be good, it was really nice to them throwing down dunks and blocking shots for a change. Michigan, while very good, may have been overachieving a bit thus far, they did not look like a top 5 team tonight. Could have been to the, get this, Illini defense. Michigan may regress a bit more nevertheless, still a tournament team.

I was on the fence when Vegas put the O/U for the Illini at 23, going with the U. I decided to lay money on KU with the U at 29 instead.

 

When U of I lost to Miami I though no chance of 20 let alone 23 but they've played much better since Miami and definitely since the UA game.

It was a refreshing turn of events, game should have not been that close, Illini outrebounded UM 44-28, had 20 FT to their 6, what kept it close was the Illini' inability to consistently hit 3's or any 3's for that matter. Also, Underwood out-coached Howard - Illini message boards whine and whine about Underwood in over his head, etc.

Another good win for IU's tournament chances with a W over Notre Dame. Still one more non conference game vs Arkansas next weekend, but unless they do something stupid in conference play, they'll be back in the NCAAs after a short hiatus. Ironically, Bracketology has them as the 7-seed vs. Arkansas.

 

Still unsure how good this team actually is since they got blown out in their only true road game so far.

Well, another shitty lack of effort loss to a terrible Missouri team for the Illini, much like the game vs. Miami. Underwood needs to fired right now, if not sooner, it's inexcusable to see such a nonchalant effort twice. You'll lose but, kids not trying or going 100% that's on the coach.

Well, another horsefeathers lack of effort loss to a terrible Missouri team for the Illini, much like the game vs. Miami. I know it sucks struggling right now, but if they fire Underwood with this recruiting class coming in and only losing ayo, they’re freaking insane.

They haven’t played well since beating TTU. They almost lost to NW and lost their first 2 conference games at home to unranked teams.

 

Big East is stacked so can’t really afford to lose the easier games at home even if they are still formidable teams. They could still play more like they were earlier in the season but it’s been trending downward lately.

Illini at Wisconsin tonight, I'm optimistic they'll snap the Badger' streak against them. Years past, Wisconsin was legitimately better, do not believe that's the story tonight, Illini may have the better backcourt and the Badgers haven't faced an Illini team or, any team this season, with the likes of Kofi Cockburn in their frontcourt. I've been optimistic before only to have them completely underperform and play like horsefeathers nevertheless, Illini have a real good chance to be only the second team to win on the road during conference play tonight.

Finally put an end to that streak!!! Good horsefeathering night Bucky!!!! Really proud of the Illini, fought and fought, one-sided officiating, even on Ayo' game winning 3 Davidson had him hooked.

After this game, them not taking care of business against Rutgers at home would be so Illinois basketball the last decade. I believe the previous game and this game is a start towards consistency in effort, with that, they'll be in the tournament.
