The Patriots schedule to start the season is freaking incredible. It's no wonder their defense is putting up historic numbers.

This is the offensive DVOA ranking of their first 8 opponents this year (6 already played)

25

32

31

27

30

22

31

29

The Giants last night are the best team by offensive DVOA they've played this year (at 22nd), but they were without their all pro RB, backup RB, number 1 WR and all pro caliber TE so basically they were a bottom 3 offense as assembled.

Granted part of the reason their DVOA's are so low are that one of their games was against the Patriots, but still.

My favorite was the helmet to helmet call. It's my favorite, because I read somewhere that they would have still called him on that if he actually intercepted the ball. If you watch him on that play, he was entirely going for the ball. Hands forward to make the catch. There would be nothing different that guy could do on that play.

Surprise, surprise, another game where GB gets BS calls to hand them the w.

Sure, that game was bonkers, but the idea that the Packers get often get FAVORABLE calls to win NFL football games is a new concept to me.

Clay Matthews agrees with theBird.

the pièce de résistance is that the first penalty wiped out a 4th down and directly led to a TD, and Flowers spent a lot of time spiritedly conveying to the field judge or whoever what a clown call it was and why, only to have him again blow it even worse a few minutes later
