To start of it really irks me that the Brewers won 7 straight to force a one gamer vs the Cubs last year, but this year we hand them the division on a silver not a horsefeathering gold platter and they horsefeathers the bed. Oh well.

At the very least we held off Flaherty from being the 1 game playoff starter, WC Game starter, or Game 1 starter. I have low expectations for this game but you never know.

Hoping we can avoid the loss so the Cardinals can’t celebrate right in front of us, then again maybe that’s be good for them to see.

Official decision, I want the Cubs to win. horsefeathers the Brewers and Cardinals both. Watch Football instead. Go Cubs!!

As for the DS, Flaherty starting Game 1 or 2 doesn’t really matter. Unless they were going to bring him back on short rest in Game 4, he’ll pitch twice regardless.

Starting Flaherty is absolutely idiotic. How didn’t we win this dumb division?

Why? If they win this one they go directly to the DS and Flaherty can still pitch twice in that series if it goes 5. He’s on normal rest also.

Facing Holland, Brewers still need to win, just throw someone else out there and save Flaherty for a 163 or WC game potentially. But likely get to use him game 1 of the DS. Also if he went game 2 and 5 he’d be on short rest for game 5.

He'd be on normal rest for Game 5.

Thu: Game 1

Fri: Game 2

Sat: Off

Sun: Game 3

Mon: Game 4

Tue: Off

Wed: Game 5

By pitching him tomorrow it allows them to pitch him twice in the DS. If he goes Game 163 or the WC game, he'd only pitch once in the DS since he wouldn't be available until Game 3.

You do everything you can to avoid a game 163 or WC game.

Winning this series with zero stakes for the Cubs just makes me despise them. Where the horsefeathers was this when it mattered? Whatever. Just get to the off-season so maybe we'll see some cool horsefeathers happen. Or not.

Playing with no pressure is easier for a group of un-clutch chokers. That’s why I hope most of these guys are gone next season. We need guys who don’t shrivel up in the clutch.

Look, 99% of "clutch" arguments are dumb, but this one is pretty amazingly dumb because you are talking about a group of players that came back from down 3-1 in the World Series to win one of the most epic game 7s of all time.

we can still win the run differential division. And that's important.

Guys, come on; surely there's some merit to this "get rid of most of the team" approach. There's no way it could possibly turn out poorly.

If we replace all of our players with the roster of the Houston Astros, it’s a fair point.

Dumb would be thinking 1 season cancels out the other 4 where they showed their true tendencies. 2016 was out of the ordinary. I’ll rely on 2015, 2017, 2018, and 2019 to make decisions on who stays and who goes. But go ahead and keep thinking that the same guys will magically be able to hit when it counts

You mean like two of those seasons they made the NLCS, won a WC game, won a division, led MLB in wins, won a Game 5 on the road in the DS and were the best second half team in baseball for a good chunk of those years?
