Dumb would be thinking 1 season cancels out the other 4 where they showed their true tendencies. 2016 was out of the ordinary. I’ll rely on 2015, 2017, 2018, and 2019 to make decisions on who stays and who goes. But go ahead and keep thinking that the same guys will magically be able to hit when it counts :roll: You mean like two of those seasons they made the NLCS, won a WC game, won a division, led MLB in wins, won a Game 5 on the road in the DS and were the best second half team in baseball for a good chunk of those years? Failed miserably against the Mets who the Royals handled. Failed miserably against the Dodgers who the Astros didn’t have a problem hitting. Not to mention the miserable failures against the Brewers pitching the last 2 seasons. But if you are too blind to see this team can’t hit good pitching and inflates their numbers against trash pitching, I can’t help you.

Playing with no pressure is easier for a group of un-clutch chokers. That’s why I hope most of these guys are gone next season. We need guys who don’t shrivel up in the clutch. Look, 99% of "clutch" arguments are dumb, but this one is pretty amazingly dumb because you are talking about a group of players that came back from down 3-1 in the World Series to win one of the most epic game 7s of all time. That Rizzo at bat is what defines this offense the last 2 years. #3 hitter. 3-1 count. Man on 3rd. Less than 2 outs. FAILS to get the run in. And that is why this team, as currently constructed, will never be a consistently dominant team like the Astros and Dodgers.

Not justifying the bad defense and bullpen but the Cubs have 3 whole runs with the wind blowing out at hurricane force. The offense is supposed to be the strength of this team.

How many bags of balls are you expecting? Seriously though. Let’s horsefeathering shake things up. We can not do something and remain the same good, sometimes very good but rarely great team. Or we can try to change the dynamic of the team, maybe it works and the team gets better or maybe it fails and we can kick of a Yankees style mini rebuild. I dunno I’m gasping at straws, I just hate watching this team right now Agreed. If we can see it, Theo sure as hell be able to see it. We need guys who aren’t gonna be happy just to be in the race. We need guys who are obsessed with winning.

Dodgers will get smoked again in the playoffs. Hopefully before the WS so we can get saved from having to watch them fail again.
