Cubs scored 10 last night, as many as the Green Bay Packers, both teams won their games.

I have a crazy feeling the Pirates might help us out this weekend by taking 2 of 3 from St Louis. It would be nice if the Cubs can increase this modest 3 game winning streak. GO CUBS!

St Louis is due for a "losing 7 of 10" stretch

Oh, they aren't going to keep up their 21/26 stretch or whatever?

No, they definitely will

This Cardinal run is eerily similar to the Brewers last year. I had visions of the play last year where the Cardinals player tripped going around third with the game winning run against the Brewers and they won that game. Or the home run against Detroit where the ball hit the top of the wall, rolled along the wall and fell over for a homer.

The Cubs have actually played really well in the last week + (they’re on a 7-2 stretch after the indefensible and inexcusable sweep by the Nationals), but Evil Satanic Cardinals Magic will never be defeated.

Anyway, the Pirates are starting some guy with a nearly 10 ERA

Three things:

1. Javy becoming the next “why didn’t we just IL him?” in a hurry. Although I guess with expanding rosters who cares.

2. Why not give Bote a start at SS? You can put Russell in for defense later if need be and it’s not as if he has been a vacuum out there.

3. Literally any of Happ, Kemp, or Almora should be playing over Heyward right now. Yes, I said Almora.

You're not wrong but I think Heyward will go back to being playable out of the leadoff spot.

Unless Zobrist goes 0 for his next 30, Joe better not yank him from the leadoff spot (not counting rest)

Javy now getting an MRI and will be out tomorrow too at the very least. The Cubs training staff is quickly becoming early-2010s Bulls level. Gonna guess Javy is going to get a spinal tap after his MRI

Yea why on earth would we want Jhey hitting leadoff?

I think he meant “now that he’s out of the lead off spot.” I hope.
