I don’t get how the Dodgers win so much with Dylan horsefeathering Floro and Joe “right handed Justin Wilson” Kelly pitching in leverage spots for them

What he said made no logical sense, though.

Yeah, the ball landed in San Francisco Bay, not the ocean. Doesn't Muncy know anything? Jeeze.

Current state: Ball in bay, completely out of sight

Comment: Go get the ball and bring it back in sight and I'll stop looking at it.

Nonsense.

But then, as many of us exclaimed how much we liked this solid line, the reward became available and an army of people looking to claim it emerged.

- “It doesn’t make sense.”

- “It’s not funny, even for an athlete.”

- “He should have said ‘don’t let me hit it in the ocean.’”

- “It’s not the ocean it is a bay, duh.”

First of all: Literally no one likes any of you. You don’t even like each other. I know because I’ve been an internet pedant before and it sucks for all involved. BUT, since we’re here and talking about it, I’m going to address these complaints about Muncy’s zinger in reverse order:

- No one cares and that’s hardly the freaking point. I took oceanography in college, I can opine on this.

- Yeah, sure, that would have stopped a few people from being pedants even though they completely understood what was said.

- It’s not a joke, it’s a comeback. How’s that for pedantry? I have never been funny so I get to opine on this.

- Let me explain something to all of you, since apparently you don’t get it: It doesn’t have to make sense. It just has to carry the moment. That perfectly crafted comeback you think of in the car on the way home? Useless. The slightly nonsensical thing that you said to a guy who yelled at you after you demolished his pitch? That’s good.

And Max Muncy is a fat softball player that, like five other guys on the Dodgers, figured it out.

Brewers get a run on a 2-out bloop into no man's land. Then Yelich smokes one that would've easily scored the runner from 1st, only the ball improbably bounces through the bullpen fence in RF. Runner stranded at 3rd.

So top of 9, it's a tie game with two outs and the Padres have a runner on third. The Rockies decide to intentionally walk not one but two players (both with sub-.700 OPS) to load the bases so they can face the pitcher. They then walked the pitcher to force in the go ahead run.

Padres sweep the Brewers, 2-6 road trip for them vs the Astros, Giants and Padres. Apparently other teams can play bad and lose on the road too.

Would be nice if they kept it up for the next couple weeks and the Cubs got hot.

Yes it would, hopefully the Reds stay on their heater this weekend. Going 1-5 to the Giants and Padres is quite bad.

Feels like [expletive] deja-vu; we all rejoice because the Brewers slump when we do, gain no ground in the division, and keep insisting that our talent will carry us to the pennant.

And it’s not wrong to think that way, because it’s mostly true and probable
