Feels like [expletive] deja-vu; we all rejoice because the Brewers slump when we do, gain no ground in the division, and keep insisting that our talent will carry us to the pennant.

And it’s not wrong to think that way, because it’s mostly true and probable

Also, have you spent any time reading this board lately? Because if you have, you'll know that we're terrible and a fluke and all our good hitters are due for regression and all our bad hitters just actually suck and this is what they are. Start scouting the 2020 draft.

Cards put in Flaherty to pinch run for Molina at second in the 11th, down 7-6. He wasn’t paying close enough attention and got picked off to end the game.

That was glorious. After they got away with sending Martinez in a very dumb way.

reminds me of one of my favorite non-cubs baseball moments ever

That was my thought also. There's two outs and you're down 2. He's scoring on any hit anyway and he's not the tying run. No need to risk him getting thrown own at home.

McCarver going "oh boy" right after he gets picked off is amazing.

That’s awesome. What a way to lose. Wong’s been in hell with the fans ever since.

Fernando Tatis Jr just tagged and scored on a 120 foot pop out behind 2nd in Pittsburgh

The Sox don’t mention that trade

Looking at the box score from this game. If this makes anyone feel better, Seal Boy’s OPS for the season is now lower than his OPS in 2017 for the Cubs

.726 OPS since Mid-May

*checks Descalso's OPS since, well, any date you want to measure it from*

Nope. Doesn't make me feel any better.

Not so fun fact! Descalso went 8-16 to start the year with a 1.279 OPS. Since then, he's at .148/.262/.219.

Yeah I wasn't considering it from a 'we replaced useful utility guy with human garbage' perspective. Just that we didn't let some dude toil on our bench for 4 years and then watch him immediately turn into an all star after getting rid of him.

In Boston, Cora just pulled his reliever in the 8th after 17 pitches with 2 outs and on a 3-2 count-not injury related. Next reliever comes in and throws 1 pitch to walk the guy. Can’t remember if I’ve seen that.

I think Joe might have pulled Edwards mid at bat during the Nationals playoff series, but I couldn't tell you for sure.

Greg Holland came in to close the game out for the DBacks last night against the Dodgers. He got the first two guys out. He then walked four straight guys to force in the tying run. DBacks brought in a reliever who walked Bellinger to end it.
