If Parkey makes the kick, Denver probably hires the other guy. Fricken Parkey.

Nah. He would have interviewed Monday either way. Just may not have been announced if the Bears were still alive.

Gregg Williams is available

yeah, he's a piece of horsefeathers but his defenses perform. worth a look

There’s a Saints connection with Pace, but I don’t know if Pace would call that a plus or minus considering how Williams’ Saints tenure ended.

Jack Del Rio, Steve Wilks, Dom Capers, or Ed Donatell?

I'd be good with Donatell for the potential continuity of scheme, but if it's outside talent I'd like Vance Joseph. Not a great stint in Denver as HC, but a good history of defensive scheming for opponents, and has adapted his defense to fit the personnel consistently throughout his career

Cutler was a victim in William's Bountygate. I'm shocked Williams ever got an NFL job after that, and I'd be pretty disappointed if the Bears gave him a job.

What the hell is the point of that? Are they going to try to frame it as a look into the abuse kickers get when they miss a big kick or something?

I mean, I can't really imagine that he's there just to talk about the actual kick. I'm assuming it's going to be about some of the abuse he's received.

Right, if he was going to talk about the kick he would have gone on the Score, or some national radio show, or the NFL Network. Instead he's going on a nationally broadcast general interest news show.

You should be invited to be on the Today show for actually performing well at your job, not sucking at your job. But hey, get the kid a participation trophy!

Now that I think about it this is brilliant. He probably never wants to kick for the Bears again, but because he is fully guaranteed $5m next year, there's a non-zero chance that Pace brings him back anyways (not a big chance though). Going on TV and talking about the abuse you receive from the fanbase is a good way to ensure your exit and as long as he doesn't say anything too bad he's in no jeopardy of losing his $5m.

The lesson here is: don't fully guarantee a large contract to a kicker who isn't elite
