So what's the tiebreaker if we end up tied with the Saints for a bye?

Conference record, which the Bears would automatically win in any tie with the Saints.

His argument for picking O'Brien is that he turned an 0-3 team around to win 8 straight games. O'Brien was coaching those first 3 games too right?

Yes, and Nagy was the coach for all of the Bear's losses as well. What's your point?

It seems like all talk of the Bears jumping into the 1-2 seed hinged on the Bears beating the Rams and the Rams losing another game, but the Saints loss last night makes the Bears path to a bye a little more believable.

Saints - Bucs, Panthers, Steelers, Panthers

Rams - Lions, Bears, Eagles, Cardinals, 49ers

I can't see the Rams losing one of those other non-Bears games AND the Bears winning out.

The Saints dropping another game, maybe even two of those with the Bears going 5-0 or 4-1 doesn't seem so out of reach.

That Eagles game won't be easy. They have to scrap for every win they can get at this point.

Just let me get my doom boner out of the way with this post. I’ll be more rational I promise.

Lose this game and the Bears have to go 2-2 against the Rams, Rodgers, at SF and at Minnesota to make the playoffs.

I get the sense that Mitch could have started (he was throwing on the field pregame) but the Bears played if safe because of the position they are in. Not based on anything but gut feeling. If that’s true, I don’t think that was a smart move at all.

Was there an unnecessary roughness call at the end of that return?

Nope. Nor was there a hold call on Floyd who was getting turned completely on that 3rd down incompletion.

He better stop forcing it to his first read or it’s not going to work out.

And his accuracy is horrible

Pretty sure that ball to Gabriel was tipped.

[expletive] Mitch should be in there.

I would prefer it, but I can't even be mad about that throw. That was aTD and Ogeltree made a ridiculous play.
