all this playoff talk is interesting, but the most important thing is horsefeathers THE PACKERS

Uh. No.

Here's a doom boner scenario though.

With a one game WC lead going into week 17, Minn (8-6-1) needs a win to clinch the final WC spot over GB (7-7-1). Bears take care of business and whoop Minn, eliminating the Vikings and setting a stage for CHI-GB Wildcard game. Aaron embarrasses us and the Bears spiral into an extended 6 year losing record drought and never best Rodgers again.

And yes I created this doom boner scenario on the ESPN playoff machine.

Good thing we rarely win at MIN (?)

Mitch seems to have second half issues that will be painful, eventually. He's shown enough to make you believe he can put it together, but so many really bad throws are just scary.

The INTs he throws typically don't bother me as much as those scary ass throws to WRs that have DBs draped on them in the middle of the field. He's been extremely lucky not to have a handful of those picked off this year, as those are the type of passes that get bounced up into the air with LBs roaming.

Hicks was the best player on the field last night. Obviously, Mack and Jackson were also really good. And I think Leonard Floyd may be almost as big a key to the run game as Eddie Goldman has been. He doesn't allow anything to his side of the field in the run game. Excellent at setting the edge.

That first pick that Trubisky threw looked like Jordan Howard was wide open in the flat. I've seen several instances where Trubisky has chosen a deeper throw over dumping down. It's a 5-7 yard gain even if Howard does't get any yardage after the catch. Maybe they will catch this on game films. I'm not expecting Trubisky to never throw an INT, and the best way to learn to stop throwing ill advised passes is to get some of them picked off, but with speedy guys like Gabriel and Miller running across the middle or going in motion to stack the defense to one side and confusing LB's, a toss over the line to Howard might be a big gainer.

It's probably true with most great pass rushers but, Mack gets held quite a bit.

Even when Hicks was making tackles for loss, he was dragging guys who had their arms wrapped around him. Time and time again. Hicks was an unstoppable monster last night, and the officials hate calling holding on Bears offensive opponents.

Saying some of this on the Score this morning apparently, on both picks, he had open receivers underneath.

Remember one instance where the OL nearly had him around the throat.

A throw to Howard could also go pick 6 when the entire offense is loaded to the other side and running deep. I remember Grossman throwing that exact play more than once.

Is it too early to look into hotel rooms in Atlanta for early February? Just in case. I know it's a long shot for the Bears to get a top 2 seed but they only have 1 conference loss and a head to head matchup vs the Rams. Hopefully KC wins tonight too.

i would rather watch the bears in the super bowl on TV anyway

Its a bucket list thing for me. I have seen the Blackhawks play two Cup games, haven't seen the Cubs play a WS game in person yet, or the Bears play in the SB.

Nagy meeting Maddon and the main thing he took out of it was have the players celebrate wins is very fortunate

and if you wouldn't run through a wall for Nagy you might not have a pulse.
