I may pass out from shock if they actually win the lottery.

The NBA should really take advantage of the flattened odds and rig it for an organization that will give Zion a chance to be relevant.

I will say that I don't think the NBA is above some lottery tomfoolery to get certain teams high picks. I will go to my grave believing that they gifted the Bulls the #1 pick in the DRose draft, for example.

Bulls and Knicks could use some lotto help, hopefully the league obliges.

Yeah I think if the NBA were rigging they'd rig for the Knicks, the Knicks could then draft Zion and add two max deals.

Yeah, it was weird when the Bulls won the #1 pick in the DRose draft when they had such low odds.

I like to think there are no behind-the-scenes shenanigans because all hell would break loose if they got caught trying to manipulate the draft to benefit big market NBA teams. Free agency already benefits those big market teams and the draft is the only viable way to contend as a small market team. Even that path doesn't really work out (just look at OKC).

Lauri Markkanen - really good

Zach lavine - also pretty damn good

Tank losses=bad.

Luckily they're pretty locked into their spot at 4, and even further away from the 6 spot.

Which is why I don't give a single horsefeathers if they win games because of young core pieces playing sustainably awesomely, especially with the new lottery rules.

Yea I don't actually care either, especially with it being with guys like that.

Lopez is basically the only guys who's success is meaningless and even though he has played well he clearly isn't going to start single handedly winning them games.

Plus the whole lottery odds changes make the drop from 3 to 5 a lot less severe. It does add to the lower limit they can drop, but not their Zion odds significantly. After Zion, this does seem like a draft where the next best player could go anywhere from 2 to 15.

I know nothing about college basketball, and haven't seen any outside of a couple of Zion clips but it seems like the top 4 is pretty locked at the 3 Duke guys and Ja Morant a point guard from Murray State. Morant is feeling like a guy destined to be picked by the Bulls unless they get 1 or he gets picked before where they end up. Paxson recently watched him in person and was very impressed -

lol what a horsefeathers way for that to end

edit - never mind I thought they'd get free throws.... to 4OT we go

Boylan knew this was coming this was why he ran them into the ground when he started.

It was actually an entertaining game to watch but that was a pretty bad win overall to the team directly ahead of them in the standings

I hope building a winning culture or whatever is a meaningful thing because these wins are obviously pointless. I don’t watch much living out or state but I did watch the game vs Boston and they were so fluid on offense it was fun. If that’s the type of ball they’re building towards I’m optimistic

Assume that GarPax won’t tank. Is this lineup with 1-2 bench reinforcements in FA a playoff team next year,

Morant/FA/Arch

LaVine/Valentine/Selden

Porter/Hutchison

Markkanen/FA

Carter Jr/Lopez (supposedly bulls want him back)

To throw some random names in for FAs let’s say Elfrid Payton at PG and Marvin Williams at PF. Just picked those names because they can both shoot and play defense and Payton can step in at starter if not ready to start Morant yet.

That team is at least as good as like the Hornets who are currently the 8th seed in the east right?

Edit: ok maybe someone other than Marvin Williams as he has a player option and is not going to decline to be a bench player on the Bulls

who is good after zion?

I think generally most everyone has the next group (Tier II) as Ja Morant, RJ Barrett and Cam Reddish. I like Morant the best out of those three and think he could be the Bulls PG of the future (if they miss out on Zion). I've heard Russell Westbrook comps for Morant's upside. Not a big fan of Barrett or Reddish.

Maybe I was overhyping what we had and we ended up sucking but I thought we had a shot. Interesting to know what type of team they’d be if everyone is healthy all year. I doubt they’re a playoff team next year and they’re the bulls so health will be an issue

They're definitely a playoff team next year with any semblance of health to the core pieces.

Lauri, Otto, and Zach are horsefeathering balling. And I'm sure they'll add something decent in free agency.

I'm gonna do whatever good luck horsefeathers I can on lottery day

At some point, it has to be okay for the team to play well. They're basically locked into the 4 spot with 19 games left to play and 3 games clear of either 3rd or 5th, and 6 games clear of anything beyond that. They aren't hurting themselves by playing well.
