There's no way to quantify it but I think a lot of things just add up to playing worse.

I want my sports heros to be superhuman dammit

They should be on all the PEDs they can get their hands on

I would like to see Albert Almora lead off by getting on base, and then pinch running Gore for him right away and trying to steal a run.

Sort of like how the Rays start games with bullpen guys first. The huge problem with this would obviously be Almora actually getting on base.

Theory: most starters like to start a game with a strike.

There is a high likely hood the first pitch of the game will be a FB

Now heres the kicker: Almora happens yo be offensively good at one thing: hitting fastballs

Proposition: tell Almora to swing at the first pitch he sees while leading off

I don’t think you have to tell Almora to swing at the first pitch. He does that plenty well enough on his own.

Have you not seen Almora play this year?

I try not to. I try to look the other way

Albert Almora post-ASB:

.222/.259/.272 in 162 AB. 7 BB to 34 K ratio right now and 1 HR during this time.

So, basically no power, no getting on-base and I'm not even sure how his defense rates during this stretch.

Just his stats in Sept.:

.203/.206/.220 so far

Bryant and Rizzo are fine if there were other dudes playing the roles of Normal Bryant and Rizzo on the team. Rizzo's got, like, a .780 OPS and Bryant's is around .750, which, again, great if there was someone other than Baez hitting for ANY power, and if there wasn't a drunken shitbird farting out different awful lineups each night. As per usual with the 2018 Cubs, getting killed by no power.

Why would someone even bother to make that? Did they really enjoy 2004 so much they thought it should be memorialized forever?

I remember watching this live... What a doom bonering teenager I was.

Bryant has been okay so far in September. Rizzo is also fine for this month. Schwarber actually has an OPS over 1.000 for this month somehow...

Probably because he got to avoid the trip to Arizona and missed a week’s worth of games. One of the few that actually is well rested

That’s when we all had Stockholm syndrome.
