PS I wanted to name the title "Sorrow for Morrow" but it doesn't quite rhyme unless you are pronouncing it like a brit.

Like a snake between two stones

it itches in your bones.

take a deeper breath and swallow

your sorrow

to Morrow.

When asking people to sign something I almost always ask for their Herbie Hancock, and no one ever gets it.

Apparently injured his back taking off his pants. This has, and will probably continue to lead, to "humorous" hot takes about his injury. That being said, I've had recurring lower back injuries from doing the following:

- Picking up a softball

- Getting in my car

- Leaning over the sink to rinse my mouth out after brushing

- Getting OUT of my car

- Standing up from a sitting position (this one actually slipped a disc in my back)

So, I feel his pain and humiliation and understand that sometimes horsefeathers happens.

I’m there with you. I’ve had lower back problems for a couple decades, and I’ve “thrown” my back out several times. And it’s never from a pick up basketball game, or weight lifting or the occasional bar brawl (joke). It always seems to just be some normal movement with a slight bend of the wais, and, BAM! Tremendous pain momentarily, and almost complete immobilization for fear of more pain. Usually takes 5-7 days minimum to get back to normal.

I learned my lesson mocking the classic "Sammy strained his back from a sneeze" after I pinched a nerve between my shoulders from a sneezing fit and was basically in constant pain for a week. I make fun of this and I'll probably stumble and fall out the window when getting dressed.

I really wish I had the a/v capabilities to make one of those informercial bits of grayscale Mojo falling out the window taking off pants while a technicolor person simply steps out of their cargo shorts and goes on with their day.

Yuuuup...for me off the top of my head...

-Getting in the car

-Leaning over the windshield to clean snow/ice off of it

-Picking up a bedsheet off the floor

I know I've had more.

I will say, that working out and getting in shape has helped a lot with it. My back doesn't ache nearly as much as it used to from normal, every day activities...but I'm sure this will happen to me again at some point.

Threw my back out at the gym. Was there to lift weights, did about 1/2 a workout but got hurt just bending over to pick up a 45lb plate, could not stand back up.

I was 17, in the best shape of my life, absolutely jacked, and threw my back out leading stretches on the first day of two-a days. Taught me to never stay in shape.

Luckily haven’t had any back problems since my kids got old enough that I didn’t have to carry them anywhere.

I used to make fun of “turf toe” until I got it. Slid my foot on some ice while delivering a combo washer-dryer set about ten years ago. It’s a dislocated big toe. Pretty much ended my running habit. Had to switch to weights for exercise. The sumbitch still hurts occasionally on random days.

Now when I hear about a football player who might miss a game because of turf toe, I wonder how they can even walk, let alone play a football game.

I sprained my foot 15 years ago and it still aches from time to time. Sucks

I had lower back problems when I was in college (started in high school after a weight lifting injury). I came home for Christmas break, was headed upstairs, lifted my left foot for the first step & BOOM, down like a ton of bricks I went. Wound up in the hospital for 4 days for severe back spasms. I was 5'11" at the time and when I was admitted, they had me stand to be weighed & height recorded. I was so twisted up, they had me as a 5'7" tall.

I'll never make fun of someone for back issues.

My dad was laid up in bed for several weeks with some sort of nerve thing in his back. I'm glad I wasn't there to bring him to the doctor (my mom and sister said he screamed in agony and sobbed getting in and out of the car)

I wanted to laugh at this DL move, but a month ago I tweaked my back picking up a piece of paper from the floor while sitting on a chair. I couldn’t stand. I couldn’t sit. It was horrible for about 2 days. Paper. The back man..;

Same. I always get a weird look.
