Everyone always forgets all that TangoTiger stuff that says that 3rd is one of the least important lineup spots. Except Joe. Joe never forgets.

I can squint and see the logic, the first several times through the order La Stella/Rizzo and Happ/Schwarber are not going to be in less advantageous positions, same number of at bats and the run producers are more likely to have runners on base. The loss of an extra Schwarber or Rizzo at bat is mitigated by the ability to pinch hit with Bryant for La Stella and in general staggering LH/RH promotes better bullpen matchups. That's probably some overwrought thinking for a getaway day lineup, but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
