Darvish: Triceps Inflammation, no Structural Damage - Will Resume Throwing in a Few Days

I feel like the best news we get out of today is something like “no structural damage, he’s being shut down for x amount of weeks and will be re-evaluated at that time.”

"he got bird flu"

Of course, the tweet makes it sound like he’s rejoining the rotation and not just the team. And then Hickey saying he doesn’t know the results of the MRI.....This is better news, but nothing very concrete.

Not out of the woods yet, but I was prepared for very bad news. So this sounds good.

Yeah, still a little nervous but he “should” be fine in the nearish future. After the workload last season kinda nice for him to maybe get a 2-3 week breather and save some miles until the playoffs.

Plus it was pointed out in here he had this last year, didn’t miss a start that time (but maybe that was Rangers pushing him since a DL stay would tank his market) and he was mostly really good after that. Not the worst thing for Monty to get another start or 2 either to keep him kinda, sorta stretched out in case he’s needed again down the road.
