That's this year's crazy miss, with Cuse getting in because wins in the state of NY were apparently a big deal for the committee.

The committee appreciates Syracuse’s enormous efforts at trying to be the 36th at large team every year.

I'll spare everyone the long rant about Syracuse and just say that I am angry.

Save some of your anger for stupid Davidson too

That's annoying for sure but I was on record even before all of this that I was fine with the NIT as long as horsefeathering Syracuse didn't get yet another horsefeathering gift bid.

This wouldn't have helped Notre Dame at all this year but would it be ridiculous to make a team at least go .500 in conference play if they want to make the tournament? Not even over .500, just go 9-9. I don't think that's too much to ask for.

First run through my bracket I ended up with Nova-Virginia. I really like Nova and their path but it seemed almost every game picking was a damn near coin flip and half the teams I had in the 8 and on I could see losing opening weekend.

That would leave out 5 teams who made it. Bama, ASU, Syracuse, Oklahoma, and Texas. Going by NIT seeding, they'd be replaced by St. Mary's, USC, Utah, Louisville, and Marquette.

Requiring over .500 would also eliminate A&M, TCU, Butler, and FSU(along with Marquette and Louisville as replacements) That would open slots for(in addition to SMC, USC, and Utah) MTSU, Oregon, Stanford, Western Kentucky, Boise State, and one of Nebraska or Washington. They really hated Nebraska.
