a little annoyed that the media narrative will probably paint the darvish signing as a response to the brewers getting to like a 76 win projection or something

all we're going to hear for the next couple months is that the brewers added cain/yelich to an 86 win team, instead of the 70-whatever win team they actually were before these moves.

The Cubs' move is to book KB's and Rizzo's plane tickets to Spring Training.

For me it won't end up being annoying, considering that means we actually signed Darvish.

I get being happy about this as Brewer fans but my friends are killing me right now. This will make it all the better when they win under 82 games next year. I’m going to make a not small wager on their Under this year if it’s inline with the general public sentiment

I wonder if they'll take Santana and try and land a SP with him.

I'd think it's a lock a pitcher is happening, I just wonder of what caliber.

Santana for Salazar or Tehran I bet

HighHeat said the Yelich trade had a 95% chance of happening yesterday, the same day he said Darvish to the Cubs was done. So Darvish is obviously 100% a Cub. It's like math or something.

yeah if the public/media sentiment is any indication of where their over/under ends up, I love the under.

Salazar would make a lot of sense for both sides.

Haha. Good point.

I actually, before these moves, felt like the Brewers were closer to .500 than Fangraphs' projections gave them credit for.

However, even if/when they sign Cobb or trade for someone comparable, I think they're still a little worse than the Cardinals, who themselves are probably 5 games worse than us. I think we'll have to go cheap in the 5th starter spot AND there needs to be a major SP injury for me to actually get nervous about the division. If we sign Darvish it's over short of some Homer at Bat caliber series of unfortunate events.

Theo follows the DBAFF mentality. Don’t care what the media says.

If the Cubs don't make a move heading into the regular season, their moves are Chatwood and Morrow and lost Arrieta? The Brewers were nearly better than them last year.

the brewers were not nearly better than the cubs last year. the cubs are also obviously adding a pitcher.

What? They were a young team that had a 5.5 game lead on them at one point. They fell apart at the end of the year. They've added a ton so far, what if they sign Darvish?

I like how the team that had a horsefeathering 12 game swing to blow the horsefeathering division is somehow the one you're impressed with.
