Bears are back. They are favorites against the Packers. If you believe the road team gets 3 points then Vegas is saying that the Bears, coming off a bye week are barely better than the Packers with their backup QB on a short week. Yay?

Would be awesome to see an improvement from Mitch after the bye

That's not very outlandish. This is basically a game where both teams are going to go into it trying to not make mistakes on offense or special teams to let teams that have trouble scoring get cheap points. Would hope that the Bears open it up after the bye and let Mitch actually make some plays.

Really a must win for the Bears. Not that they really have a legit shot at doing anything, but a team supposedly on the rise cannot lose this game to their biggest rival going in the opposite direction. Fox loses this game, he's done. Whether it's after the game or after the season, this seems like a game that if they lose, will start a downward spiral for the Bears.

McCarthy could also be quietly coaching for his job this week too. Obviously, no Rodgers is a big excuse if they lose and continue to look terrible doing so. But I'd imagine it doesn't look very good on McCarthy that he's gone 3-6-1 without Rodgers. And if you're giving Rodgers that much credit then you have to see it as anyone can coach him to be a good team, and you need a coach to take the team to the next level as that would mean 8 seasons since winning the Superbowl which includes being blown out in the NFC title game last year.

I'm surprised at how many people think Fangio wants to just walk away from a defense he trained over the last 3 years. Defensive coordinators don't just walk away from great defenses unless they get a promotion.

my concern on that matter is more that a new HC may want his own guy.

Amazing coach speak here:

TA: Without Zach, you probably will be more reliant on Adam Shaheen. What would you like to see from him the second half?

Fox: He has shown continued improvement. I think we’ll probably utilize him more. His play time will be affected in a positive way. We’ll get to see more of him. He’s a different player from Zach, but they play the same basic position.

Was Shaheen considered a pass catching, all around, or blocking TE out of college?

he was strictly a pass catching threat, but his college competition was so over matched it was hard to know if it could translate.

Bryan Bulaga was put on IR today, ending his season. That's going to get the outside rush linemen something more to drool about before Sunday. I watched the first half of the Green Bay game pretty closely. Hundley was a check down machine. Not sure how the second half worked out, but I do recall a few passes downfield. One was overthrown and would have been a TD to Adams. The Bears should force a similar game plan this Sunday.

Wheaton should be back this week. Inman should be ready to go. Any news on White? I heard there was potential for him to return.
