The 'Kershaw and 15 okay starters' approach to rotation building could fall apart if Kershaw gets hurt, and they're in a pretty competitive division. 2019 would be more likely though after Kershaw opts out.

Bullpen had an outlier year and not sure the performance of the position players is sustainable.

 

That being said they whipped us without one of this best players.

Going from memory, won't they have some expensive veteran contracts coming off the books? I think they are in rather good shape financially with some long term flexibility.

Yeah I mean at worst they are probably a WC. But I’ll give it a try........Their road to “suckage” is probably all their starting pitchers who are older and have been hurt get older/hurt, their throw horsefeathers against the wall in the bullpen doesn’t stick and outside of Jansen the bullpen sucks, the Chris Taylor’s of the world go back to being the Chris Taylor’s of the world and not 4+ WAR players, Turner loses his pixie dust/gets old, Seager is kinda showing he might be an injury prone guy and has bumps and bruises all year, Bellinger does what Pederson did after his first year and isn’t as good as he was after his rookie year, that’s all I got.

but they won more than 100 games and have the inside track for signing a lot of their good pitchers, plus they've still got kershaw, wood and one-pitch rich for at least 2 more years. even with some regression it would be surprising to see them not winning more than 90 games for the next couple of years at least.
