You are very close to realizing that you're looking for something to be wrong because the game was frustrating. Hitting Scherzer, Strasburg, Kershaw, and Jansen(15 of his 25 PA) is hard. You'd hope he'd do better of course, but he also has 5 hits(2 XBH) and a walk in 6 games. He hasn't been a black hole.

Fair enough. Hitting good pitchers is hard. But he’s an MVP. You expect more from an MVP. He already has a pretty extensive and very mediocre playoff resume.

Bryant hit .308/.400/.523 in the playoffs last year. He hit 3 home runs, one tied a game in the 9th inning, and the other 2 gave the Cubs leads in World Series elimination games.

Yeah better than I thought. But his career playoff ops is .793 with 43k in 119ab. So I’ll stick with mediocre.

793 is a perfectly fine OPS and you are being completely ridiculous. We'd all like Bryant to be better. We have 3 entire seasons of evidence that suggest he is very likely to do just that the rest of this postseason.

Willson's leg went back and to the left.

Just had a flashback to that JFK movie w/Costner.

Just got back from the game I think this is more fitting explanation of the tag

My two cents for tonight.....

A really perfect night in LA.

Q looked solid but the walks bit him.

Puig is a massive clown and the curtain call he took without being requested was an amazing time for me to the bust the balls of the nearby Dodger fans.

Kershaw was the worst starter we have faced so far this offseason.

This Dodger team is massively beatable. Our bullpen blows massive chunks right now though and I am not sure we can overcome it without offense.

And finally, Dodger fans are clowns. Lots of chest puffing for a 1-0 lead.

I'd spend the time to look for a gif, but it's not worth the time. This is just some of the dumbest horsefeathers spewed on this board ever

We almost stole the game tonight, should've won it with some better luck. Oh well. This team is damn horsefeathering good and Dodgers are a bunch of horsefeathering frauds. Soft ass Rich Hill starts tomorrow vs a likely red ass Lester, we are fine. We head to Wrigley 1-1 starting Tuesday. People need to chill out. Remember when we couldn't hit last postseason then all the sudden did? Yeah it's gonna happen and see you in the world series in a week or however long that is until we face Verlander then it's like "okay maybe good we didn't get him" because we dong him to death in that stupid park they play in.

Series doesn’t start until a road team wins a game and this mother eff’ing series starts today.

We are the better team, we win this series

Where ru getting the better team stuff from?

optimism? or the fact the cubs beat them in the playoffs last year and are defending champs?

it's a 7 game series. anything can happen

apologies for this post. i was catching up on this thread and saw many, many more dumb horsefeathers posted that i probably should respond to. if only it wasn't pointless.

when they win tonight that's pretty much all you can ask for. the BP should be well rested now. Lester is a somewhat cool(?), redneck, red ass, playoff monster and he's going to pitch his ass off because he eats POS like the dodgers for breakfast. the cubs will win tonight and have another off day tomorrow to rest up and re-calibrate. they won early Friday morning and had to travel from freaking DC to LA and play quickly (relatively speaking for the playoffs) with a wildly fatigued bullpen. This team doesn't back down - i have no doubt they are still supremely confident they'll win this series. win tonight - one day at a time.

for crying out loud they were down 1-3 last year in the WORLD SERIES. it sucks they lost but it's only one game - it barely moves the needle at all.

oh, and when kershaw pitches again they are going to CRUSH him

Posted
Yeah! This time they'll be a well-rested bullpen that can't throw strikes and loves to give up dongs!

agreed. why even play the games?

better luck next year LOSERS. God, they're only going to piss me off again when they win the division again and win the NLDS and lose in game one of NLCS. Baseball and the cobs suck so hard

I just don't get why their approach went out the window when they got Kershaw out. Some brutal ABs afterward.

I'm confident they can pound Hill but they're gonna need to seek out the curve a few times and make him pay as I expect a heavy dosage of them.
