Leave the poor guy alone. He doesn't want the ball. We should honor his wish.

What a gutless turd.

I'm not gonna lie, I'm not sure I believe much of that story.

I also half expect to wake up and hear he's starting Game 4.

Ditto. I'll believe it when Roark is warming up in the pen before the game.

Part of me wants him to start and we either 1) smoke them into submission or 2) Jake shuts them out completely.

Maddon was a bad ass today when he said they don't care who pitches.

Not starting strasburg is so stupid that it has to be Dusty thinking it's a clever ploy. No matter what this is so Dusty Baker it hurts

Also, not starting your best pitcher who should be ready puts them at such a handicap it almost feels cheap to beat them that way and i almost wanna beat Strasburg instead. Almost

Don't feel bad. They voluntarily hired Dusty.

But yeah, I've lost about 155 pounds over the last 18 months. Just need to ride this out until Xmas and I should be at 175 (so I'll have essentially lost an entire me, which seems bonkers) and I can start finally eating some real food again.

Holy horsefeathers, man, that is incredible. Congrats.

Has anyone ever tried to watch major sporting events on a cruise? Pretty easy to get the games?

I'm going on a cruise this weekend/next week and I knew all along that this might interfere with the NLCS and prepped my wife months in advance. But now I'm starting to feel guilty that for 5 out of the 7 days of the cruise, I'll be preoccupied at night if the Cubs advance. Normally I'd be fine (post World Series win) following the game on my phone and streaming the big moments but of course on a cruise I won't have cell phone reception, and the in room TVs dont have TBS so I'll have to head to the one sports bar on the ship to watch the games.

I know 1st world problems.

"People close to the situation confirmed that Strasburg is indeed sick. One used colorful adjectives to describe the extent of the illness. When asked if he could pitch Wednesday, according to a person familiar, Strasburg said he “would give [the Nationals] what he had.” Those involved in the decision — Baker, General Manager Mike Rizzo, Strasburg and pitching coach Mike Maddux — concluded what he had would not be much."

Strasburg is not the only Nationals player to be sick. B ut Strasburg was sick enough that he cut short his normal bullpen session Monday after just 20 to 25 pitches. The Nats, knowing that Game 4 might be rained out, asked Strasburg whether he could pitch Wednesday.

“I’ll give you what I’ve got,” Strasburg said, according to General Manager Mike Rizzo, who was in the meeting.

“We just think it’s smarter to give Stras the extra day to get better and, hopefully, have him at full strength if we get to a Game 5,” Rizzo said.

Manager Dusty Baker misspoke — twice. And it made the Nats look like they had no clue what they were doing.

I have and yeah it’s pretty easy. They get a lot of the major channels at least in their sports bar or other bar areas. So you should be good, the reception has gone out before on me when there’s storms or you are in dead spots...... I’d say be safe and buy the WIFI package, it’s not good enough to stream video but good enough to use an app or site to follow (ESPN/MLB Gameday/Twitter/NSBB) it also might be good enough to stream the radio call of it.

Awesome. Must be how you feel:

It's strange that Strasburg is not starting. But I guess everyone now realizes it was unfair to blame Dusty for this decision.

What I don't understand is why the Strasburg decision was made yesterday. We've all been sick, and we know you can feel like crap one day and better the next.

Any indication of what the wind will be doing at gametime? Would love a '15 NLDS like dong fest.

Definitely not a absolute rule but my impression has been that more often than not when it's cool and rainy the wind is blowing in. That's why it's often blowing in early in the season and blowing out more frequently during the summer months.
