i mean holy horsefeathers. skip to the 1:00 mark (unless you want to get a peek at the future good NFL back/receiver Jalen Samuels of NCSU). That throw at 1:25 is what sold me on Trubisky. And he damn near brought them back from 0-28 by himself. i'm not crowning him but i knew then the guy is super talented:

 

 

and lol i had totally forgot state upset them on senior day and at chapel hill. their defense horsefeathering sucks (and now their offense will too thanks to early departures)

He didn't do anything to stand out, even amongst our rag tag group. I think we could find better production after cuts. Failing that, I'd rather develop Gentry or Davis.

I wonder if they could snag Dontrelle Inman from the Chargers. He seems like an odd man out at this point with Keenan Allen, Tyrell Williams, Travis Benjamin and Mike Williams likely ahead of him on the depth chart. He's a big target that played well in place of injured Keenan Allen last year. Other than Inman, seems like there isn't going to be a lot of talent in the receiver department available after today's cuts.

Honestly, what do you have to lose? This isn't a Lovie situation where the players loved him. This isn't even a Trestman situation where the playbook goes out the door with him. I don't think there are any players worthwhile that are closely tied to him and would miss him. Loggains and Fangio stay. Make Fangio the head coach. Make Donatell DC. Loggains keeps calling the offense, and let him make the QB decision for Week 1.

 

yeah, I think Fangio is the next HC of this team anyway.

 

No worries. Michigan wins it all this year and Harbaugh leaves to coach the team that drafted him. Fangio is his DC. Win win.

Well, Gentry made it through waivers so that's cool

So Jeremy Langford got cut and Taquan Mizzell RB and Tre McBride were signed. Gentry passed through and made the practice squad.

 

I would have thought Langford might have had some 7th round value at worst.

Deiondre Hall went on IR and John Jenkins was signed to replace him on the roster.

 

In other moves, the Bears have signed wide receiver Tanner Gentry, tackle Brandon Greene, tackle Dieugot Joseph, nose tackle Rashaad Coward, linebacker Jonathan Anderson, linebacker John Timu, linebacker Isaiah Irving, safety DeAndre Houston-Carson and guard Cameron Lee to the practice squad. All were on the Bears roster this offseason except for Lee, who spent time with the Saints and Bengals.

Yes, and maybe even put some money on the team over 5.5 wins. I know the early schedule is tough but I still think they find a way to win 1 of the first four games and then finish with 6-7 wins.

i mean it's been said like 100x that sanchez wasn't really here to play, but to be a guy in the meeting room to mentor about what it's like to suck in the nfl and blah blah blah. his relationship with prescott last year has been brought up a lot too. i think it's a load of horseshit but clearly they believe he has value in that role as basically a coach under the guise of a fellow player.
