Derwood displays some concerns about how the off-season went: CRAZY HOT TAKES

Sulley proclaims Trubisky to be the next Aaron Rodgers, plus the running game is "elite": reasoned analysis.

yeah, what a crazy thing to say the running game is elite

you'd almost think they had a good offensive line and a guy who ran for 1300 yards last year as a rookie in essentially 13 games...at a 5.2 y/carry clip

oh and another promising rookie with ridiculous athleticism is being added to the mix

Everyone knows sulley is a crazy blowhard (only my teams!), but he wears it on his sleeve. Your measured response is concern that Trubisky isn't Andrew Luck as a prospect.

My measured concern is everyone in this thread crowning Mitch's ass before he's thrown a meaningful pass.

whatever the hell that means

bears fans are far from the only ones excited about trubisky. and just about everything sulley was saying about trubisky's game, minus the hyperbole, obviously, is showing up on the field.

I'd say less crowing than fans who would rather just watch him than Mike Glennon.

Sulley might be crowning him though.

that and just being excited about a guy who very much looks the part already, goes through his progressions, keeps his eyes downfield, and has pocket awareness that is noticeably very good. not to mention ridiculous accuracy and arm talent. he has things to clean up, obviously, but it's nothing that should doom him.

There's a difference between "he's looked good in the preseason and might be the real deal" and "he's the savior of the franchise for the next 20 years"

CHICAGO BEARS

Mitchell Trubisky, QB: The Bears' QB1 of the future continues to impress whenever he steps onto the field. Trubisky shows outstanding composure and confidence directing the offense as an athletic playmaker from the pocket. Against the Titans, he carved up the defense with a barrage of short and intermediate throws directed between the hashes or outside the numbers on quick-rhythm drops or half-roll bootleg action. With Trubisky also pushing the ball down the field on scripted "shots" and capable of leaving the pocket on impromptu scrambles, the Bears' offense looks more diverse and explosive with the rookie at the helm. Grade: A

tell brooks to stop crowning this guy

I know who Jordan Howard is.

But go on and be super weird and defensive about this mediocre football team.

Well 20 years was hyperbole, but was also a longer point about the value of drafting QB early. That seems the be the part you don't really get, Trubisky aside.

i mean you're the dude who came into the bears thread and basically said "hey idiots, stop being so excited over your exciting quarterback prospect."

Yeah, I kinda did

don't worry, we all get to be bored out of our minds again with football for the next several weeks watching glennon struggle to try to 2005 orton some wins for us

I'm impressed that Cleveland is actually starting Kizer over Osweiler. I wish the Bears would just start Mitch. Maybe we'll get lucky and Glennon will fall in a hole

As the dumb dude who mentioned 20 years I'll just say that anyone who read my post and interpreted it that way is about as dumb as the guy who is ready to crown his as the savior of the franchise based on 3 preseason games.

I have a lot more than 3 preseason games. I was hyping him long before the combine.

His pocket awareness, his release, his ability to run. The fact that when his head moves, his feet don't, and he keeps both feet beneath him when he throws. He's the deal.

Trubisky may not be the greatest QB ever, but the running game is clearly excellent. I mean, do you know who the bears are?

This whole thing just smacks of you trying to simulate human observations and concerns but failing miserably.

No one will accept you with salad.

Where are you projecting the Bears running game? Top 5 in the NFL?

Well let's see they finished tied for 4th highest YPA in the league in 2016, have a stated offensive game plan to run to set up pass and should have a defense that is decent enough to keep them in games so that the run game is not abandoned.
