I guess Tanner Gentry just made the team.

I think he was already a lock. I think he'll now grab a starting spot at some point and guess he tops 600 yards and 4 TDs. He's 6'2 and there aren't that many tall "go up and get em" receivers on the roster.

Edit: reminder this guy had 1,350 yards and 14 TDs last year, as well as (I think?) the most 20+ yard passes of anyone in college football

meh. the cubs play 162 times and this will be our last chance to watch trubisky for a few weeks at least.

Glennon did not look great after the first drive but made some throws. My guess is that unless Trubisky just dominates in the 2nd half starting with the series w the starters that Glennon did enough to win the job. I don't like that but whatever with that schedule he's either benched by week 4 or he actually does well and becomes an asset.

You think the 4th game will be all Sanchez/Shaw?

who knows...i kind of forgot the 4th game exists because i never watch it lol

but however much he plays, it'll be with bum ass 3rd and 4th string bums (which only make up the WR corps on the first string offense)

Glennon is so bad, even when he's good, he's bad.

4.58, nothing special but enough to be a jump ball guy. Here's some stuff I wrote about him a couple months ago.

Tanner Gentry - WR - Wyoming - 4.58 40-dash 6'2 220

He had 72 receptions for 1,326 and 14 TDs as Josh Allen's primary target. His 49 targets on deep passes was the most among college receivers (PFF). The PFF scouting report says he has NFL starter potential, and that his strengths are jump balls, sideline catches, and "circus" catches. But he's also not that slow and clearly can get downfield.

He didn't get an invite to the combine, which seems weird for a guy who had those numbers and played with a likely high first round QB. But it's also weird that I couldn't find a highlight video for him. I'm guessing that for a guy whose goal is to "eventually be one of the best receivers in the league" going undrafted was a harsh lesson in the virtues of self-promotion. Hopefully he just got missed because he's a white guy from Wyoming and forgot to hire an agent or something.

Either way, he doesn't have a good highlight video, so here's one of Josh Allen. It's pretty much all Allen heaving it downfield, while only occasionally looking where he's throwing it and Gentry making all kinds of jump ball grabs. He's very much of the jump up in the air, grab it, and fall down variety with zero YAC, but that can be pretty valuable if you can also have a knack for getting open on broken plays.

On his training camp (some good Trubisky stuff too): http://sportsmockery.com/2017/05/one-name-dominated-early-bears-rookie-minicamp/

Trubisky has seemed to like him as a target so far, so hopefully he gets featured in the second half.

Mitch needs work in the pocket and the Bears know it. They're not just gonna move the pocket on every pass play for him. He needs to make those throws from within the pocket.

He seems to get a bit flat footed from the little I've seen.

I was actually just jumping in to say Trubisky seems to never stop moving his feet. That last screen he just shuffled back like a yard or two with a guy in his face to create space for that Langford dump off.
