Bosio probably has to go now too.

Did Bosio go rogue after Theo put him on Double Secret Probation?

The starting pitching was garbage before he was suspended with pay.

If the hitters ain't hitting and the pitchers ain't pitching all I'm saying is that somebody has got to pay.

How long will the Cubs continue this slide? Our pitchers have trouble retiring the side. I honestly dont believe were that bad. Watching this team its all I really have.

maybe they wouldn't be the only thing you have if you'd focused more on keeping your daughter from getting kidnapped so many times

Maybe it is my fault she turned out to be a runner, rebel, and a stunner.

I'm shocked at the replies. Sending him to Iowa will get him 5 ABs everyday without the pressure that he is under now. It's more to clear his head and hit the reset button. It will happen sooner than later. Best example, look at Conforto last year he was sent back to AAA and now is back up and comfortable mashing Edited by HendryWallet

The playoffs may be the final frontier. But it's tough when you're in the BABIP basement. Kris can you hear the cheers? Hitting dongs, running station to station. And below .500 is not far away. We suck out West. It's Californication.

Yes yes yes let's follow the Mets system of player development, this is a horsefeathering flawless strategy.

And when Schwarber goes to AAA and bats .200 and strikes out 3 times a game?

I says we send him to High-A like the Cardinals did with Grichuk, just to clear his head of course.

What is the league average for BABIP? Schwarber is at .210 right now which indicates some bad luck at the plate, no?

Yes and no. Schwarber is a slow left handed hitter with pull heavy tendencies, so you don't expect him to run a league average BABIP(especially since a decent number of hits should go over the fence anyway). He's also having trouble hitting the ball as hard as he was at the very start of the year:

As far as I can see, Schwarber is simply not punishing balls in the zone. He's being as selective as he always has and there hasn't been a drastic change in where pitchers are working him, but his exit velocity on pitches in the zone has gone down. Here's 2015 on the left and 2017 on the right.

To me that spells a mechanical problem, compounded by pitchers doubling down on what's working so far. Sending Schwarber down doesn't fix anything, and since once he corrects that he'll be one of the best hitters on the team again there's plenty to be gained by letting him work through it. Considering the alternatives(Jay, Almora, Happ) are all struggling as well, there's no sense in demoting Schwarber(who given his insane work ethic doesn't need a wake up call or kick in the butt) to give the MLB at bats to someone else either.

Definitely a very low BABIP. Not sure how much of that is the shift working well...it seems like almost all of his ground balls go to the right side and a high percentage of his fly balls go to the left side

I'm tired of his 0-4, BB, 2K games....need him to get right against AAA pitching for 3-4 weeks and reset, come back up with confidence to rake the rest of the season. We don't need his bat to win games now but we will in October. It makes sense on too many levels as sad as it may be

why dont you just suck my kiss
