horsefeathering hell. This was supposed to be the game where we snap out of it and go back to normal. Brett Anderson's shot into the sun. Jon Lester is Jon Lester again. And we horsefeathers around do this.

Very very true

i actually still want the cubs to win a lot

Oh, me too. But it's hard for me to complain too much since they accomplished something six months ago that I would have sacrificed a lot of future seasons to secure.

Yeah it'd be nice to be able to back up that championship swagger for at least one season but that's just getting greedy...the rings are what we wanted, I am content for awhile even if things haven't exactly gone perfectly so well this year.

1-5 against the Yankees and Red Sox is kind of dumb. And the one win was due to the Red Sox being unable to play defense

aaron boone: this team that is winning almost literally every game is a "fun" team to watch play right now.

Sweet. We lose Szczur and we still have Grimm.

Theo is apparently on board with some folks here in that it doesn't matter what happens now that we've won a WS .

Being bottom 5 in defensive efficiency is mind blowing

horsefeathers really? I guess that makes sense. Going from historically great to bottom 5 in def eff helps explain going from best starters ERA in baseball to bottom 5 in baseball.

You're looking at 2011, the Cubs are currently 17th. They were 3rd or 4th when I checked a couple weeks back, which doesn't surprise me since it coincides with the rotation going 5 IP and giving up rockets the first time through the order for 20 straight games.

They're not bottom 5. Not sure where he is getting that at. They are middle of the pack. And it's kind of hard to turn balls in play into outs when Brett Anderson is giving up rockets all over the field. They're still top 5 in DRS, despite playing like horsefeathers on defense.
