Yankees fans have obviously been spoiled. But they have to be real excited by the fact that their rebuilding team is pretty awesome and none of their farm system guys are up.

it feels like they became the new us in one month

Sweet. We lose Szczur and we still have Grimm.

Theo is apparently on board with some folks here in that it doesn't matter what happens now that we've won a WS .

Hey, that's how things can be taken out of context. I'd like to think people are simply aware that it's a bit over the top to be too upset after we just won a World Series that each of us - except if you have like a 115-year old relative - has waited their whole sporting life to see.

man wtf happened to grimm in the offseason? he seems like he has completely lost it.

They don't have similar repertoires, but in terms of consistency I think he bears a lot in common with Mike Wuertz. When he's good he's very, very good, but that comes so rarely between issues with control and/or command that it adds up to a guy who is a middle reliever on a contender.

No one's said that or feels like that. A lot of people aren't freaking out, because this team is still insanely talented. It sucks they've played like horsefeathers. But our frustration is lessened after seeing what these guys did last year.

this cannot be a serious post

It was more about the folks who are all gee gawly we won a WS so who cares. I'd lieke to think Theo is smashing all kinds of horsefeathers in his suite I know it's only a month, but I this team doesnt look good for whatever reason

can you imagine if we'd lost game 7 after joe sent chapman back out in the 9th, then this team came out this season flat like this? Oh my god id quit baseball for real

this four run ninth off chapman is going to be hella awkward for him.

*weis21 hopes the cubs don't give up runs in the ninth*

horsefeathers really? I guess that makes sense. Going from historically great to bottom 5 in def eff helps explain going from best starters ERA in baseball to bottom 5 in baseball.

You're looking at 2011, the Cubs are currently 17th. They were 3rd or 4th when I checked a couple weeks back, which doesn't surprise me since it coincides with the rotation going 5 IP and giving up rockets the first time through the order for 20 straight games.

Man my bad wtf

The one thing Boone said that was right, is that for this team to be a game above .500 and suck in a lot of different ways has to be encouraging in a weird way.

I don't know if it is encouraging. But it definitely shows that the freak out is a little much.

*weis21 sees wade davis is pitching and doesn't worry about the "giving up runs" part anymore*

I've got some bad news for you.

yeah, that inning was seen between going-to and coming from the bathroom. i had some sort of weird confidence that it was no longer grimm but, hey, maybe it lit a fire under him from 900 miles away?
