I threw in the towel after the 12th and this went 18 idiotic innings? It's bad enough they lost but they had to keep it going forever too? Awful

Same here. Anyone know what time this one actually ended? 1:30?

It ended around 1:15 am.

I fell asleep on the couch after the 15th, woke up right after the Yankees had won and went to bed, but then bizarrely still kept waking up about every hour thinking the game was still going on and I needed to check to see what was happening.

Between went I went to bed after the 12th and when I half awakenly checked the score at 3:45 I must have had a dozen dreams of how the game ended. Most of them had the Cubs winning. Oh well

this season is going to be depressing as horsefeathers

You're right. The Central is so loaded the Cubs don't stand a chance. Season over, good call.

This is the reason I'm not actually worried. The Cubs should be able to piss while sitting down and still win the division by 10 games

Edit: I'm still kind of worried though, but not to the point i want them to stand up to piss

You're weird.

I remembered hearing before the season that the Cubs' schedule was front-heavy this year, so I was curious if that holds true. Fangraphs currently projects 10 teams to win 83 games or more(CHC, WAS, LAD, COL, STL, BOS, NYY, BAL, CLE, HOU). Here's the number of games against those teams by month for the Cubs:

April through the NYY series: 12

rest of May: 9

June: 11

July: 6

August: 3

September: 7

Other NL teams of note thus far:

STL: 9

PIT: 15

WAS: 7

NYM: 6 (lol)

LAD: 8

COL: 7

ARI: 19 (!)

SF: 14

This is imperfect because previously considered contenders could get themselves in gear(think Pittsburgh, San Francisco) and knock names like Colorado off the list, but it's worthwhile as food for thought.

I was hoping I'd be able to see the end during breakfast, but was well on my way to work when it actually finished. 8-)

going to Mile High and seeing some dudes named Senzatela, Freeland, Marquez should be the cure for what ails this offense

all of the slumping Rockies are saying that about Arrieta, Lackey, and Hendricks
