REJOICE, BEARS FANS:

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2727235-mitchell-trubisky-compared-to-tim-tebow-by-john-fox-after-preseason-debut

Chicago Bears head coach John Fox had an interesting comparison when describing Mitchell Trubisky's preseason debut in the team's 24-17 defeat to the Denver Broncos on Thursday.

"First time we threw Tim Tebow out in Denver was pretty similar," Fox said of the hype growing around the No. 2 overall pick, according to Bears sideline reporter Zach Zaidman.

Tim Tebow might have been cast from His right side; the numbers ain't looking too good. After a hot start in high A, he's rockin' this line after 202 PA:

.215 .289 .343 .631

For comparison, here is how he did in 244 PA in low A:

.220 .311 .336 .648

WHAT HAVE I DONE TO OFFEND THEE.

Maybe there is a higher power on his side in how all of the Mets players are being struck down one by one until they have no choice but to ascend Tebow to the ML team.

If I could have whatever I wanted I'd probably choose to play baseball too

Averages aside, I am still sort of impressed an outsider can come in, have 97 hits, 24 doubles, 2 triples, 8 home runs, 52 RBIs, and 43 walks.

So does he get a September call-up or what?

Absolutely. They are 24 games back.

You think they're going to remove an actual major league prospect from their 40-man in order to promote him?

New York Mets general manager Sandy Alderson believes 2007 Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow "will play in the major leagues."

"He's been super for us the first year-plus," Alderson said of Tebow. "He's made progress on the field and he's dedicated himself to improving. He has spent a lot of time in the offseason working with hitting coaches."
