I like that Joe wanted our guys to get a good look at Davies. And we took him deep twice.

I was at the game in Milwaukee last year when he took a no hitter into the 6th or 7th (I think Fowler and/or Bryant were robbed of near HR's in the first inning).

I don't think other teams' fans and national broadcast type people fully understand how good Contreras will be. As far as breakouts, Russell will be a popular pick, as he was an elite prospect over multiple offseasons, and obviously everyone is expecting big things from Schwarber for a full season. But they'll look up in July and realize we have like the second best catcher in baseball and be like, "horsefeathers, they have him too?"

I agree. I think he finishes with the highest WAR for catchers this year in MLB.

I can't wait for more of the Javy Baez Experience.

 

And, I agree that Willson is going to be a surprising breakout candidate. I think Russell is deservedly getting love as a breakout candidate, because there's so much potential there, and with his defense, the heights can be extraordinary.

 

But, Willson is legit. His athleticism is pretty rare for a catcher. And I think he is going to put up really good numbers at the plate. I have enough confidence in his bat that I do think he'll be one of the elite catchers in the game.
