I don't think scalpers are evil. I have done it on a small scale and since I'm a season ticket holder for an NFL team, when I can't go to a game, I have made a profit too...though this year I will go to 5 of the 8 reg season home games (Would have been all 8 if they hadn't flexed one to Sund night, my dad hadn't passed two days before anohter, and I hadn't come to Chicago for playoffs in the weeked of the other), last season which was dismal, 6 of the 8....and the fewest I have attended was 4 of 8....and never fail to used the playoffs. Though none of that matters...I'm just rambling because I'm bored.

What is important is while I don't care that he scalps or that brokers own seats, I also don't care if the Cubs are attempting to reign in that behavior. Neither behavior is repulsive to me. I can understand why the op would be upset he lost his tickets, but the Cubs were perfectly in their rights legally and morally to make such a conclusion.

Exactly. If you choose to sell your tickets that way, hey, more power to you. But if you get busted and lose your tickets, well, that should just be an assumed risk.

Basically how I feel

He had every right to try to leverage his position as a STH into profit and the Cubs had every right to decide it was too much and rightfully take their tickets back.

I would like to personally thank all the benevolent scalp...er, I mean "brokers" for buying up all those tickets to Cubs games for us regular fans and then selling them for above face value. What a wonderful service they are providing.

A season ticket holder does not have the right to leverage their position. I seriously do not understand this mentality. You have no right resell tickets.

Don't be that guy taking the use of the word "right" ultra literally.

The Cubs and MLB not only allow it, they practically encourage it. It is an option on the STH website. You can batch list them easily and they even suggest where to price them based on what other listings are going for. He was allowed to do what he did and the Cubs were allowed to say it was too much and not let him do it again.
