Best of both worlds. Barkley played awesome and bears should have won, but still in line for pick.

two dropped td throws. Bellamy tried catch a throw in his chest which he easily should have caught with his hands. it was bad

One great throw that Bellamy let bounce off his chest and arms, one good throw that was low and a bit of a difficult catch (but makeable), and two awful throws that nearly got picked off.

Barkley earned another start next week, but he's not the answer. He had a good week against a mediocre defense.

This completely

That was the desperate narrative last season, too.

Anybody get an official number on the Bears' drops today? Had to be 7+ easily. Josh Bellamy literally dropped the game-winner. Never seen anything like this. I can't believe the Bears would let this WR corps continue to look like this if they let Alshon Jeffery go.

Oh and Danny Trevathan tore his ACL.

It doesn't make it wrong. Who cares about being 3-8 vs 2-9?

Ah, but it can go wrong, so it will go wrong. This is the team of the damned.

11 drops, most PFF has ever recorded (started in 06)

I would have been flatly irritated if we would have won this game. The Bellamy drop was a huge relief. And hilarious!

Wow. Just disgusting. I can't bring myself to feel relief with the Bears losing. But I was pretty indifferent. I would have been happy with the win, just because the game was so dumb. Titans could do whatever they wanted offensively and still almost blew the game to Matt horsefeathering Barkley. Of course, SF and Jacksonville may not win another game either. And the Bears play SF coming up.

Sorry man, but when it's week 12 or whatever, and they only have 2 wins, I really feel no guilt hoping they don't win. This season has been a nightmare with injuries and I think there's enough talent on the team that they can bounce back and be a playoff contender next year if they nail this draft. I think they have a better chance to do that with the #2 pick.

Don't think this makes me less of a fan.

In previous years i would have a hard time rooting for losses, but there is no saving face here. The record is going to look horrific and most of the players that are currently playing are probably not the future of the team. The best possibly outcome is a top 3 pick and a franchise QB lottery ticket.

I cannot believe a team with Matt Barkley at QB, some guys I've never hear of at TE, 4 offensive lineman backups and a WR corps of Meredith, Thompson, Bellamy and the other guy I'm forgetting (edit: Wilson) was a dropped pass from a W.

Also I missed much of the game, I see in the box score that Royal played but he only had 1 catch and based

on listening to the 4th quarter on the radio he was not playing. Did he just suffer his standard injury?

I don't think he was ever actually listed as healthy. He was back to return punts, but I can't remember if he just fair caught all of them or let them go by. Nevermind, I just looked at the box and he had one short return.

It's probably better to just let the coaching staff grade out the younger kids and see if there is anything worth sparing after the season, so I had no problem with Eddie sitting on the sidelines.

I have to say it was pretty weird seeing guys with numbers catching balls that I had no idea who they were. Don't have a clue who Brown is, but that was a nice catch for the first td.

I watched the first quarter, listened to a bit on the drive to MetLife and then listened to the 4th quarter in the parking lot. (don't judge me, we got free tickets for Jets/Pats and it was a nice day)

I went from cheering mildly for a win and then being perfectly fine with the loss after they came up short. I'll still probably cheer for a win in any game and not be upset with a loss the rest of the way.

I'm the same. Always cheer for them to win, especially against division rivals. Didn't get my feelings hurt when Bellamy dropped the ball.

To have as many players go down to injury and still be competitive against anyone at this point tells me that there is some decent talent to work with going forward. Seems as though Langford has fallen out of favor with the coaching staff. Or they are looking to protect him from aggravating the injury he missed several weeks with. Carey got more carries/plays than Langford yesterday.

Sorry, that wasn't meant for you. I was saying that # of drops is disgusting.

But yeah like others have said, I'll actively root for a win while they are actually playing. But I won't be heartbroken if they lose. Yesterday I just laughed at the Bellamy drop. I figured they'd still win though as that was 1st down and the Titans really showed no interest in covering anyone for the last quarter.

Cool, thanks for clearing that up. I thought it might have been in response to the drops but wasn't sure.

BRIEF BEAR BASHES BOYS:

http://deadspin.com/former-chicago-bear-charged-for-abuse-of-child-prisoner-1789572893

A former lineman for the Chicago Bears who became a prison guard is facing nine felony charges in Kane County, Illinois for his role in a scheme to encourage violence amongst inmates at a juvenile correctional facility as a method of self-policing.

Johan Asiata, 30, spent time on the Bears practice squad and played in two games in 2010 before brief stints in the CFL and the Arena Football League. He is accused of “intentionally [failing] to report the commission of a battery as required by law,” “[allowing] juvenile residents to rough house and horseplay,” “[striking] victims about the body,” and “[bringing] contraband onto the youth center property,” amongst other things.
