I think the adrenaline has worn off and I can go to sleep now. Can't wait until tomorrow morning when I wake up and remember the Cubs are the champions of the world!

Just checking in to say that this really did happen. And it was beautiful. And it was glorious. May this moment last forever...

And farewell to a player we all fell in love with this year, one David Ross. Thank you, Rossy. Thank you for everything. You have cemented a permanent place in Cubs lore and will be remembered forever.

Just came back home from Wrigleyville. Boy, that was a scene.

Tried to make my way towards the stadium, only to get pushed by police in riot gear. Just the way the crowd was being shoved around was insane. Never been in something like that.

WE DID IT!

horsefeathers YEAH!

It's a Celebration bitches!!!!!!!!!!!!

How good does that feel?

I've cried too many times to count in the last few hours.

Bartman....I really wish he would take the lime-light. You want to know why? Because he is a good person. I was Steve Bartman's batboy. He played with my brother on the Niles Renegades team, a teen travel team back in the day. Steve loves baseball and the Renegades so much, he decided to coach the team with my brother and coach the team together years later. The sweater he wore on that night in 2003 was a Renegades sweater, because he was proud to wear it. The hat he wore was the Chicago Cubs because he was proud to wear it.

I cry for the one's i've lost. I got to cry with my father, mother, and brother tonight. But I think about Steve because he is the best fan......

i had to work today, couldn't get out of it, so i listened to pat hughes and ron coomer call the game while doing a terrible job of learning what i was supposed to be learning during the training course. my co-workers understood. i had to leave and go for a walk after the davis home run. then i banged on the desk multiple times after the zobrist double, and they thought i was angry. we went on lunch break as the cubs had the bases loaded with a couple of runs in, so i just sat at my desk continuing to listen. after edwards got the first two outs, i had my head down and was about to lose it, but then the walk and single put me back in super nervous mode rather than super emotional. after the final out i went straight to the kitchen and got a beer that i'd brought in to work this morning.

it tasted fantastic.

Hats off to Dan Vogelbach for putting together a great season and landing us Michael horsefeathering Montgomery! He's like Rich Hill with velocity and he's going to be a lot of fun to watch the next few years. I heard a Cubs fan bitching that we traded away the next David Ortiz for a bust. That just cracks me the horsefeathers up. He was serious.

I can't believe that all of these prospects we followed for 4-5 years - and were derided for being excited about - just ended the longest drought in major sports history, in basically their 2nd year together. I mean that's unreal. That's the makings of a [expletive] dynasty.

The team is too deep to not be in the dance every year for the next decade.
