yeah, I gotta say I'm not thrilled at all with facing Kluber 2 more times, even on short rest. someone's going to have to give me a very detailed and compelling argument

Won't be a game 7 so only see him once more.

which I also believe, but I don't understand why people think it's such a good thing that Francona would ride him like that if it does happen to go 7. he doesn't have to be as dominating as he was last night to still be really [expletive] good

Yeah, I don't expect short rest Kluber to even be as bad as Kershaw was the 2nd time around. I think he could still put up a quality start or at worst a 5 IP, 2 -3 ER type of game. And with the potential of Miller and Allen the last 4, the Cubs still need a strong pitching performance to beat him.

He'll be worse

nobody knows this, and even if he is, will he still be better than Lackey? I'd say most likely yes

The internet is full of wonderful information. Outside of his ALCS start he's pitched on 3 days rest 1 other time for 2 innings (didn't start the game) and gave up 4H, 4R, 4ER, 0BB, 2K, 2HBP and 1WP. So combining that with his last start on 3-days/short rest Kluber is at 7IP, 8H, 2BB, 6ER, 9K. That's a 7.71 ERA. Which is about a run higher than Jason Hammel's postseason career ERA, a guy whom we all dread pitching for us in the postseason. To put it into perspective.

you can have your rainbows and puppy dogs. I'll be over here with my personal rain cloud. I've been burned by sports too many times to not be a grouchy turd all the time

Seconded.

Joe says Bauer is a reverse split guy. Can't look it up right now.

There's a bigger gap this year than for his career, .236/.305/.385 vs LHB, .253/.333/.399 vs RHB this year in about the same amount of innings/batters faced. For his career it's pretty neutral... .235/.327/.391 vs LHB and /.249/.329/.405. vs RHB

Even if was even, Joe is justified in not going all lefties like last night.

Still feeling good about this series. Jake doesn't need to be god-mode, he just needs a QS in order for this win to be plenty comfortable. Our dongsmiths handle the rest.

There Will Be Dongs.

of all nights there may not be a single home run ...cold wet and windy is a recipe but if Roberto Perez can hit 2 anyone can...well except Heyward...but anyone else

With the wet conditions, Bauer's mangled pinky not able to grip a ball completely I wouldn't be too surprised to see a safety squeeze put on tonight if given the opportunity.

That's kind of a philosophically profound statement. A little Quantum Physics?

Soler WAS a part of this (I'm not implying it's meaningful at all, just wanted to post it...it was right before we got confirmation that we were actually going to be good for real and I remember enjoying the horsefeathers out of it at work)

There's that easy oppo power from Bryant that looked like would be his trademark shot as he climbed the milb ladder and inexplicably vanished once he reached the Majors.
