The Indians offense has positive values for pitch types across the board. They hit sliders almost as well as us, they crush changes and curves. They don't have a clear weakness and they get great production with platoon guys (Naquin, Guyer). Our analytics team certainly has their work cut out for them.

138 steals is no joke. They love to run. That will be our biggest challenge. We can't let a bloop and an infield single turn into a cheap run in the WS.

Their bullpen has been automatic. We all know that we need to bomb on their starters. If we beat the horsefeathers out of Bauer and Tomlin they have no chance. I think Lester will have a tough time matching zeroes with Kluber. This team doesn't just bluff - they run. If they take 20 foot leads, it doesn't matter how quick to the plate he is and how fast Ross pops. Now if they take a normal lead then, sure, we can mitigate that damage, but I think Cleveland is smarter than that. The last time we faced Kluber, we were overpowered and took some really bad swings. But granted, that was last year.

A healthy Salazar, throwing 97 with a devastating change-up, could spell major trouble for our hitters but it doesn't seem like he'll be starting. Unless they're just biding their time in announcing it.

This should be an amazing World Series. But let's break out the brooms!

horsefeathers this post. We're the 04 Red Sox. The Indians have had too much time off. We're not losing another game.

I'm still rooting for Heyward to be in the lineup most days. Granted, at the bottom of it.

I just don't see any of our other options as being good enough offensively to overcome the disparity on defense. Contreras is close, but I kinda like the idea of having him and Soler both on the bench for when Miller comes in.

Adam Dunn could play in right and bat one-handed and still put up a higher WAR than the current version of Heyward we have. (I'm only joking about the one-handed part.) This devotion to defense, for an outfielder, above all else, is starting to creep me out.

I said after a game 3 loss to the Doyers this team was going to go win 7 in a row. Lets horsefeathering do it. The Indians are banged up... hoping for something from Bauer and Salazar, plus missing more pieces, they will be rusty, lets go pound them into oblivion. Huge RD games & Cubs Winning 4 more in a row!!

Lets Go!!!!!

Basically, The Indians are The Cubs Lite.

It's about to get real. Time for Big Jon to continue his march through the playoffs. Keep the speedsters off the base, and they'll be lucky to get one off of him. Let's get the bats going early and cruise to the W.

So I forget whether it was Baseball Tonight or MLB Tonight that commented last night how the Cubs have struggled against left handed pitching. Then I'm reading a Dayn Perry article on CBSSports where he lists one of the reasons for his Indians pick is that the Cubs don't do as well vs right handed pitching.

Perry at least uses some numbers, but they don't really struggle against either, specifically.

I was calmly reading the thread when I again caught sight of the thread title and burst into hysterical laughter. Now I might cry again. Good grief this is amazing.
