Ross vs Soler is whatever. Stats-wise, I know Soler is the better hitter. On the surface, I somewhat agree Soler would have had no chance.

 

Really, Addison needs to make contact in that at-bat. He didn't come close, but he's got to give us a shot to put at least one run across.

Miller had a 44.7% K percentage against hitters trying to actually get hits this year. Hoping for Russell to just put the ball in play isn't asking for some miracle.

Plus, Ross was having good at-bats this game. Plus, Ross was probably more likely to make some kind of contact and get a hit (think trying to score *at all* was part of the analysis).

It'll be interesting to see if Miller comes out for the 8th. He already threw 21 pitches in the 7th, and while Shaw and Allen are pretty good, they aren't Miller either.
