I joined the board soon after I began following the Cubs back in 2008 (back in my junior year of college). Been mainly lurking on it, and enjoy reading the comments as I'm listening to the evening games on the radio or watching on television. Went to my first game in a while 2 weeks ago to watch Kyle Hendricks and Travis Wood get RBI's against the Giants. Loved it, and looking forward to attending more games soon!

I stumbled into this board looking for a breakdown of the Lee-Choi trade and have been visiting many times every day since. Finally registered and this is my first post. Thanks to all for the years of entertainment and information. I'm still trying to wrap my head around what this team has accomplished and what the future holds but cant forget to enjoy the ride.

Hey Tim, I'm curious how much has traffic picked up since the playoffs have started? I'm hoping there is a lot more interest from inquisitive Cubs fans looking for a place to read up on the Cubs.

 

The cynical side of me feels like a lot of these lurkers are just angry and upset Cardinals and White Sox fans waiting for a collapse that will never happen. Like you mentioned before -- they came for the non-existent misery porn lol.

It's up around 50% so far. We'll see how the WS goes

This has been an amazing run but I've been holding out hope that they go all the way this time around, so I've been trying to keep my excitement level down some. They've got a great shot at the Indians, looking forward to seeing how it plays out.....

I doubt anyone remembers me. I was an original here from the old Cubs board. I check in and lurk from time to time but I have not posted in forever.

 

I remember, in 1967, hopping on my stingray bike and riding through my southside neighborhood (where I had been relentlessly teased for not only rooting for the "wrong" team, but an awful wrong team), shouting "The Cubs finished third! The Cubs finished third!". All these years later, I find it hard to imagine this is... real. I lived to see this day.

 

National League Champion Chicago Cubs. Every time I say this I want to cry.

Hi, yes, hello, I'm here and still recovering from Sat.

I've been around here lurking since the summer of 2003, which feels like a lifetime ago. I live in Portland now but we flew to Chicago to watch Game 2 of the NLDS with my dad and brothers, lifelong Cubs fans all. Husband is a Dodgers fan who knows what's good for him :)
