I can't believe I'm 24 hours from feeling like we're going to the World Series in a matchup we should be massive favorites in or wanting to kill myself.

Would take 3-1 for the suicidal thoughts for me. But yeah I was just thinking about how the next three days are either going to be glorious or misery.

Anyone recall reading if the Cubs pursued Miller? I seem to remember they did and the asking price was Schwarber correct? Was there any additional info that came out? Obviously you can't help but think about the advantages of having him over Chapman (able to go more than an inning more easily, control beyond this year, less distraction, etc.).

Just wondering what the Cubs countered with after Schwarber was asked for. Can't help but think the Cubs could have (or should have) outbid the Indians.

Anyway, obviously moot now because we have our guys to go to battle with but the question was more out of curiosity

Should've just signed him 2 offseasons ago

You know, I see where we failed, we used to have loving, embellished game thread starts and the last two (including this one) have been a bit dry. Comon guys.

I agree. Nachos, SBTB, Friends... something!!

Maybe seinfeld?

I'd be okay if we just won all the non-Kershaw games.

1,3,4,6

I would really like to give kershaw an "L"

Yeah we ended even year magic nonsense garbage, let's crush the hopes and dreams of Kershaw having a Bumgarner like playoff run.

I agree. I took next week off of work, I do not want to spend my week off wondering what might have been. I just don't see how the Dodgers win more than 1 game the rest of this series.

I would greatly appreciate a "non-classic" game. A blowout in the Cubs favor that bores everyone else that is not a Cubs fan would be glorious.

I'm getting confident again.

I'm fully confident.

Cubs are going to get to 6-inning Rich and Jake will be good enough, then they'll get to 4 inning Urias and the Dodger pen and Lackey will do enough. If LA wants to throw Kershaw on short rest in Game 5, go for it. If the Cubs don't win that one, they'll knock Maeda around in Game 6.

horsefeathers LA, Cubs are winning this horsefeathers.

Back in 2007, Cubs made the playoffs and faced the D'Backs on the road for Game 1 and 2, lost both. Came home for game 3 with Rich Hill, we put all our hopes on him... And of course, he went 3 innings allowing 3 ER before being pulled. Then the Cubs lost 5-1. That sucked.

Chris Young hit the very first pitch of the game for a HR. Imagine how deflating that is for the Cubs, sure you are down 0-2 but you are back home, its the first playoff game at Wrigley in 4 years, the fans are nuts, you just did your pregame introductions that gives the game that very important feeling, and then boom you are losing already. He needs to make things right by blowing this game. Come on OPR.

Similar thing happened in Game 4 in the NLCS year. Daniel Murphy hit a 3-run shot in the first inning of game 4 against Hammel.

Lucas Duda and then D'Arnoud
