weird to think that tomorrow is basically do or die for LA. With the way we play at home, they can't lose a kershaw start on the road w/us already up 1-0

Roberts horsefeathers that 8th inning up left and right. He deserved to lose for walking Heyward. Which isn't to even speak of the fact that you had Joe [expletive] Blanton pitching in the 8th inning of a tied NLCS game. Even if Jansen wasn't available, you had no one better? (If he actually had no one better I will recant this part)

Against all odds, Blanton was really good this year and was serving his normal role as setup to Jansen.

If the Cubs beat Kershaw tomorrow this is a sweep IMO

I just bought awesome seats for game five (out of town in Austin for 3 and 4). I hope I don't use them.

Thoughts after the greatest Cubs moment of my lifetime.

I'm sort of with TT, I didn't mind the way Joe managed the 8th. If Bryant just takes the out at 1st instead of trying to go nuts, maybe Chapman gets out of it.

I was fine with Montero against the righty but it cracked me up that Joe was going for the ninja Contreras matchup again.

I love this team.

During the postgame he called walking Heyward the obvious move lol.

Reporter - When did you start getting ready for the PH

Miggy - Honestly I started getting ready at 3:00 PM

Lester - You are old Miggy, you are old.

Honestly, I think Joe nailed the managing for the most part. Pulling Lester was a tough call, but Jon was getting hit a bit harder than his results indicated. And with how solid our bullpen unit should be, it made sense to pull Lester and try to tack on a few runs.

After he made that tough decision, I think he made exactly the same calls I would have made with respect to bullpen management and pinch hitters.

I think the only place he got a bit surprised was in the 8th when Roberts walked Coghlan to load the bases. I'm guessing Maddon would have swapped in Montero and Coghlan in reverse order if he knew that would be the case. But it was a risky play on Roberts' part, and it didn't pay off for him.

While my brother was at home watching on the couch, my sister-in-law who knows nothing about sports was at the Cubs game tonight thanks to a vendor at work. That's probably why she was filming on an 0-2 pitch to capture Miguel Montero's game winning grand slam as seen here.

That was fun. Almost slapped the nervous couple next to me for screaming about how we shouldn't bring in our best reliever in the highest leverage situation in the game.

Guys. WE ARE GOOD!

What was their reasoning?

Forgot about the IBB to Heyward. That was the one thing Roberts missed on in the 8th.

Yeah, walking Heyward to get to Baez but sticking with Blanton to face Montero is a curious bit of anti-logic. He must have been some combination of consumed with getting to Chapman's spot in the order and terrified of Contreras facing Dayton.
