I want Dusty Baker's Nationals. You know Dusty will do something stupid, or perhaps more importantly, not do something smart that will cost them. Also I'd love to see Daniel Murphy go 0-series.

FWIW the weather at night next week when we'd be on the road is relatively similar between LA/DC. LA is getting to the 80/90s during the day and DC in the 70s but both are in the 60s at night with no rain forecasted as of right now.

In case you didn’t know, the Nationals and Dodgers are baseball teams. And they’re facing each other in something called the National League Division Series. In fact, they’ve already played four really good games which you probably weren’t paying much attention to because said games were played at a time of day when most Americans are busy filling out TPS reports. And because Cubs, Cubs, Cubs, Cubs, Cubs, Cubs, Cubs, Cubs, Cubs, Cubs.

Well, we hereby interrupt your regularly scheduled prime-time broadcast (of the Cubs) to inform you that Game 5 of Nats-Dodgers is all queued up and ready to go. Better yet, thanks to the Blue Jays and Indians pummeling the ever-loving snot out of the Rangers and Red Sox, respectively, and thanks to the Cubs (they’re from Chicago, maybe you’ve heard of them) doing uniquely Cubs things against the Giants, suddenly Washington-L.A. is the only game in town.

I've gone back and forth like 5 times over the last few days. Sometimes the Dodgers scare me less, sometimes the Nats. Regardless they are both flawed teams that I am pretty confident that we can beat.

I think the Dodgers are really damn good. I'd be much more confident if we had two lefties in the rotation.

That's not to say I'd expect to lose. I'd just prefer the Nats.

Yeah I prefer the Nats and it's not all that close. That being said if we play the Dodgers I'm not that worried. It will probably just take 6 or 7 games to get it done.

Nats...hopefully....Cant stand the Doyers or the fans..I live in LA and doubt I would go to a game here because of it. Also if we play LA the games will start around 5:15 which means an hour of shadows to start the game...No thanks

Do the Dodgers have an active message board to lurk? Non-MLB affiliated, that is.

I remember back in the day Dodger Blues was one of the funnest forums to browse because of the language on there

i dont think it exists anymore

I have seen Dodgers autocorrected to Doyers so many times, and I gotta say I still like it

lots of people call them that

There's no way in hell anyone can describe Game 3 as a "good game." It was painfully long (shocking with pitchers like Gio Gonzalez and Pedro Baez, I know) and dull.

Dusty's teams are now 3-11 all time in games where they can eliminate their opponent from the playoffs, including 1-11 in their last 12.

Trying to think....

2002 LDS 1-0

2002 LCS 1-0

2002 WS 0-2

2003 LDS 1-1

2003 LCS 0-3

2012 LDS 0-3

2014 WC 0-1

2016 LDS 0-1

And it started so well for him...

Did you know Bochy is 10-1 in games in which his team can be eliminated?

I fully expect us to start Montgomery.

Maybe a Montgomery/Zastryzny bullpen game I could see...especially if we're up.

Idk about a start but I think Joe is gonna be quicker on the trigger to bring him or Zastrynzy in during a non-Lester start.

In place of Lackey, I assume? I'd hate to be around when Joe broke that news to him.

Lackey starting with Montgomery entering the game the moment anyone reaches base the 2nd time thru the order is probably the best case scenario. By starting Lackey you ensure that Montgomery(who could conceivably go 5 innings himself) gets matched up with the lefty heavy lineup, at least to start. You could apply the same approach to Zastryzny too, I think he and Montgomery are better used as immediate and multi-inning relief of different starters than as a combo.
