One of the guys from Pitcher List, which does all the pitching gifs and evaluations, celebrated his life the only way he knew how: with a horsefeathers load of amazing pitching gifs of Jose Fernandez being pretty much the best pitcher in baseball:

for me, its the fact that the hitters can talk to him and everyone has fun. Dave Cameron kind of captures it - he was fun. There was no ambiguity about it.

I know it ultimately doesn't mean anything, but I hope he wins the Cy Young to at least give one last public honor for his family.

 

I'm really bummed out about this.

Not saying this to insult Fernandez, but he's actually second behind Kershaw.

 

This is really really horrible and I can't recall anything like it off the top of my head (a young guy at the top like that). Len Bias is the closest I can think of.

Anyone hear if they are doing anything special tonight (I know it was his day in the rotation) and/or if it's going to be televised anywhere?

I've been watching their game on MLB network and it's....hard. Dee Gordon bawling while rounding the bases on the lead off home run in which he took the first pitch right handed was tough.
