I've never seen a team execute so many squeeze plays especially when the other team knows exactly whats going to happen. It's absolutely insane how many times the defense doesn't get even 1 out in those situations.

I freaking love it

Thats true. Dan Plesac is still the worst color I've heard for the Cubs.

Didn't Randy Hundley fill in on a few occasions?

Did Hollandsworth ever do it? Or did he actually sit in on the TV broadcast? Hopefully I'm imagining all of this.

Hollandsworth did TV broadcasts. His biggest issue was that he wouldn't shut up. He'd make an ok point, but then keep horsefeathering talking about it.

I'm glad I wasn't a very serious fan when Steve Stone did color because I find his smarmy smug style really off-putting

Also my mom knew him in College

Your mom and Steve Stone probably did it.

There's a non-zero chance that Steve Stone is actually my dad

They must have spent all the time dedicated to OF/INF practicing in between flyballs and communicating/knowing who should take what in ST in favor of 2 strike bunting practice with runners on 3rd.

He just seems too over-excited and LOVES embracing some seriously meatball tangents. He also would try to relate EVERYTHING to his own playting days, but he seemed to scale that back during the post-game shows, thankfully.

Watching/Listening to Garza pitch for another team is very cathartic because I remember what it was like to see him go 3-2 on literally every batter ever

Man, Bryant has been absolutely brutal in bases loaded spots.

Well, it was .091 on the season coming into that AB and now under .200 in his career. I'll admit I embellish a lot but this is a fact.

I think someone has said the Cubs have an 1.100+ OPS in bases loaded situations and that tells me a lot about confirmation bias because it certainly feels to me that they've been much much worse.

But I'm a fallible human being, prone to lapses and superstition
