What can be done about Heyward's swing at this point? I don't regularly watch full games, but man, it is beyond brutal. Does he take a few days off to literally just try and reset things? We can't have a giant donut in the playoffs offensively, can we?

With his glove you can't leave him out

I mean, we're up, 13 games right now? What's the harm in trying to have him sit out a couple/few days to work on things?

Really don't understand Ross hitting here against a tough righty. I get that he doesn't want to unload his bench but this is a terrible matchup and Contreras is a perfect option here

They already did. Remember when he missed 2 straight games wrapped around an off day

obviously it's just one player but it's pretty amazing how the cardinals totally outpitched their FIP numbers by a huge amount last year and now the cubs are doing the same thing

The Final Boss seems to be on tonight

Either that or he had a really easy matchup with Ross and caught Javy trying to swing for the fences

I'm kind of nervous about the lack of arms left in the pen. I'm guessing Oh will go another inning against the heart of the order

That Javy at bat is a great reminder of why Coghlan started (and got on base twice) tonight

He's been on a really bad run of late. I think he's struck out in over 50% of his ABs the last 2 weeks
