Why the hell would you remove your best horsefeathering hitter right before extras when you are counting on a guy with a .630 OPS for the year and quite a bit worse against lefties?

 

There is like a 10% chance Szczur for Rizzo matters eleven if Heyward gets a hit, and at best a 20% chance he even gets a hit.

I would be interested to see a statistical analysis showing the benefit of a marginally faster runner at second with 2 outs vs. losing potential extra inning at bats from your best hitter. At face value, I never like it, but I don't doubt that it may be the statistically right thing to do.
