Holy [expletive], Jim Bowden was a non dumbass right then.

My thoughts exactly. It was almost like Theo/Jed got a hold of him and said "hey dumb [expletive] we aren't trading Schwarber, this is what you are going to say on air today."

They should tell him to beat that info into Olney also.

Nice no challenge by the Mets! Haha

Also, I think we should count that as a Heyward HR every time he throws someone out at home

That's Heyward's version of a dong

I don't understand the people questioning the lack of a challenge; he was obviously dead at the plate.

didn't look like the tag was on the lead foot

He had so much time to tag him he simply delicately laid it upon his foot.

It looked like Montero missed his foot and I don't think it was so obvious his foot didn't get to the plate before the tag. Obviously it didn't since there was no appeal.

I tought the tag came after his leg hit the plate. Like the throw beat him but the tag didn't. Happy to be wrong, though.

Actually, Olney followed it up with......I get it, Schwarber is a lefty, middle of the order bat, that's 30/100 year in, year out. Can't trade that for a relief pitcher.

I think his foot might have gotten to the plate, at the least it was close enough that I'm surprised there wasn't any talk of challenging it that we could see on the broadcast.

98.9 mph on the throw

Err maybe he should be pitching?

Screw trading for Andrew Miller.

yeah lets do it like cricket where the pitcher (bowler) gets a running start.

You think there is a chance Schwarber catches and Conteras plays outfield?
