Uhh is there a disgruntled player we released like two or three weeks ago who told everyone some secret to figure out what pitches we're throwing or something

You can hear the sound of the window closing as all of our pitchers get older and suckier.

Yeah, but it happened like this instead of the normal way:

All the pitcher got together and had a meeting where they decided to collectively suck. Hendricks showed up late but he brought donuts and coffee so no one cared.

Jesus, people. I understand some negativity, but it isn't that bad.

I'm not sure how it can be any worse. I mean there really doesn't seem to be any end in sight for this and it's likely they will come back from the break and continue the absolute terrible pitching. I guess if your searching for a bright spot at least we scored some runs tonight?

The Cubs have a 6 ERA since the slump started. If you think that's going to continue indefinitely then you can safely give up on the season.

lol

On the one hand, you have a very limited imagination if you can't think of anything worse than a big lead at the break. On the other hand, you suffer from an amazing case of recency bias in assuming things will always be the way they are at this very moment.

We could not be in first place. We could have a tiny lead. We could have had a rash of long term injuries to key players.

It shouldn't take a slide rule to figure out how things could be worse.
